I know this got rave reviews but I won't be making it again. I thought it was too mushy. Only one person tried it at the Thanksgiving meal besides me and they weren't crazy about it.

Delicious. Made it for Thanksgiving last year and everyone loved it. Really hard to clean out of the crock pot though, so use a liner. This year I'm trying it in the oven.

I followed the recipe as written except I used 2 eggs instead of 1/2 cup egg substitute. So good! Many asked for the recipe.

I brought this to a potluck and while sitting at the table a murmur started around the room. "Who made the corn?" When people found out I made it, lots of people requested the recipe for Thanksgiving. I made the recipe as written, but doubled it, and added 1 teaspoon of vanilla and used 1 stick of butter. I cooked it in the crockpot for 4 hours, then put it in the oven at 350 for about half an hour to brown the top.

Tasty, but next time I'll turn down the heat a bit toward the end. When the 3 hours was up, it looked perfectly done and I unplugged the cooker, but then 15-20 mins. later when I was about to serve it, it had pulled away from the side and it was then I noticed the bottom was burnt. It still tasted good, but the presentation wasn't as nice.

This was very yummy and the whole family loved it! I made mine in a 3 qt casserole dish in the oven, but it didnt need as long to cook as other reviews in the oven. I took it out once browned and fork came clean when checked in the middle. Great and easy side dish!!

Awesome! Made as written using 2 whole eggs & also used the oven instead of the crockpot. 325 degrees for 90 min in a 2 qt casserole bowl. We will definitely make this again.

This was a first attempt at making Spoon Bread and the recipe turned out a really great product. I did bake this in a cast iron pot, uncovered, in the oven at 325 degrees for 90 minutes and it was fantastic. This recipe is a keeper!

This was great !!! then again I am a cornbread lover....and anything with cream cheese is worth trying. Highly recommend as the recipe is stated but it one of those items that can be "adjusted" to taste or cooking mood. Thanks !!

Super recipe. I made this for a potluck and have gotten a million requests for it since. It will definately be one of my go to recipes. My crockpot cooks a little hot and it was done way before the suggested time, so I will watch it from now on. Also, do this with a crock-pot-liner. I like to never got all the spoonbread out of there! Otherwise, really, really excellent.

I have been making a similar one for years but wanted to try this in the crock pot. I did change a couple of things-I doubled the recipe to cook in a 6 quart slow cooker. I added a stick of melted butter and some vanilla. I didnt have nutmeg, so I used pumpkin pie spice. I also used a total of 4 eggs instead of the egg substitute, use only 2 eggs if not doubling the recipe. I cooked on high for 3.5 hours and it was perfect!! This was better than my other recipe which used sour cream instead of cream cheese. I had rave reviews!! Thanks!!!

This was my first try at ANY kind of spoon bread. I chose this one since it was for a second grade class corn tasting party and I thought a sweet dish would go well. Well, I had more requests from the parents and faculty for this - it was delicious. I can't help myself but adapting any recipe i try so these are my changes that gave it 5 stars from me: I used low fat cream cheese and skim milk. I used a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice (I was out of nutmeg) and then added a teaspoon of vanilla. Everything else was as written in the recipe. So great to be able to let it in the crock pot, too. Give this one a try!!
