These are great! I had never made homemade corn dogs before, and these are better than store bought corn dogs and they are easy to make. Thanks for a great recipe.

Wow! My husband and I, and our 1-year old baby, enjoyed every bite of these!! I used turkey dogs cause that's what I just happened to have, and I fried them in lard (manteca). The batter was light and crispy. Thanks for the wonderful recipe that we'll use every time!

AWESOME! We had never had a corn dog before so we didn't know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. They will be on our menu for years to come.

My 6 year old and husband are very discriminating not only about taste, but also smell. If it doesn't smell good---they are not eating it! On my first try with these, they devoured them immediately. My son declared that they smell great! This recipe is simple and fun. It's a definite keeper!

Great recipe! I have never made corn dogs before, but they are my son's favorite treat at the fairs so I wanted to surprise him. They came out perfect! Thanks to everyone for all the added helpful hints.

These were really good corn dogs. I dried the room-temp dogs before dipping and had no problems with the batter sticking or sliding off. Came out very smooth and golden brown as well. I was only able to get 10 hot dogs covered with some batter remaining. The flavor, while much better than frozen, lacks some depth and seems a bit fluffier than those from the carnival. Next time, I will use a bit less baking powder and sub season salt for the salt as well in an attemp to rectify those issues. PS-the leftover batter makes fantastic hush puppies when you add a bit of onion and some "heat" and fry them.

I loved the recipe! The only thing I did different was I cut the hot dogs into bit size pieces for the kids.. the kids LOVED them and asked for seconds! Though I am going to try to put them in the oven vs frying.. I usually try to refrain from frying foods if I can.. will let you know how that works!

Excellent! I used Oscar Meyer Smoked Turkey Sausage instead of Beef Franks. I cut them 2" long dipped them and fryed them. It was awesome! I will use this again!!!!!

This was an awesome recipe- my kids pounded them. I didn't have to coat the hot dogs at all before I dipped them and to make it more "kid friendly", so they wouldn't poke each other, I just cut the hot dogs in half and dipped them in the batter. I don't think I will be buying corn dogs anymore, these are much better! Thank you for this recipe.

These were great, I cut the hot dogs in half and used a popsicle stick, I also used the idea other person had and that was to roll the hot dogs in corn starch before coating them in batter. Oh and I used a tall glass as suggested and it worked great, the batter got a little thick so I thinned it with just a touch of water, so as to make the hot dog be able to go into the batter better. My husband just loved them as did I...thanks for the recipe.

This recipe was fine; however, it didn't have a "corn" taste. I like my corn dogs a little sweeter than this batter

Whew! I'm full! I just got finished making and eating 'circus' food! This was a geat recipe, only next time I would omit one thing, the corn dog recipe didn't need sugar in it so that will be left out, will probaly put garlic powder in place. And my suggestion to some reviewers who had trouble with the batter, okay,at first I tried seperating the flour from the cornmeal but I quickly found out that I had to add them together to make the cornmeal stick and after you dip them in batter, roll them again in the cornmeal,it really does help! All in all, this was a really good recipe! My son said 'Pretty good mom' Wow! hehe

very good ~ didn't fry on skewers; instead cut hot dogs into small pieces, dipped in batter and dropped into oil
