This was not a hit with my kids. I used Ballpark turkey dogs and I think they expanded too much...then later contracted leaving large gaps in the muffins. Maybe cheaper hot dogs cut up into smaller pieces would have worked better. If I were to ever make this again, in addition to the changes mentioned above, I would add honey to the batter.

very tasty! I cut up pieces of hot dogs and pushed them into the batter in the muffin cups instead of one big piece of hot dog.

I loved this recipe much more than corn bread, or store bought corn dogs. The sugar was a perfect touch for my taste and although I couldn't specifically taste the cheese the bread was a nice texture and yummy. I was concerned about the cheese because store bought cheesy corn dogs are nasty! Next time I will just cut the hot dogs into small pieces. This time I cut them into 8ths and slid the long thin slices into the dough but they just fell down anyway. I like having a hot dog for each bite. They did crumble terribly if I wasn't really really careful getting them out of the tin so next time I will add more cheese and be more careful. Also the dough was a little gooey right around the dog from juices. I think this would be helped with smaller hot dog slices. My husband enjoyed them too much because we didn't have as many leftovers as I had hoped, and my 1 year old was an awesome sport and ate almost 2 muffins. Clearly the muffins were delicious for children of any age, and a picky pregnant woman.

These were pretty good. I followed the recipe exactly, except I cut the hot dogs into little cubes. My husband LOVED these so I'm giving it 5 stars. I'm not a corndog person, but I thought they were okay. They are an awesome idea fo0r kids. My girls are 18 months, so they didn't show a huge interest in them yet, but I'm keeping the recipe on hand for later!! Thanks!

Followed the recipe, except I halved it. I used my mini muffin tin, Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, and Cheese hot dogs in 1/8 slices. This was pretty good! Perfect mini corn dogs!

I LOVE corn dogs!!!! This recipe is not only YUMMY and sooooooo easy it was a GREAT HIT with the picky eater Grandkids AND GRANDPA!! I followed the recipe EXCEPT omitted the brown sugar, agreed with several other reviews: "Jiffy Corn Muffin" mix is sweet enough; I did add a pinch of onion powder to add alittle zip of a flavor!!! This recipe is a definate KEEPER!!!!

Yummy! Okay guys, learn from my mistake if you're gonna cut the dogs up smaller and mix them in with your batter. Just make sure you get a good little batter base in each cup before letting in any hot dog pieces. Mine are yummy but they're all tearing up trying to pull them out of the pan because some of the dogs were at the bottom. If I make these again I think I'll leave the hot dogs just one half right in the middle, as instructed. I think this would taste better and be cuter, to me... Also, turkey hot dogs work good for reduced fat and calories!

Made this a surprise for the kids. They loved it. I needed to use up left over hot dogs from a camping trip so this worked out great. I did not use corn bread mix but actual corn meal. I took the dry ingredients in a recipe to make corn bread and then followed the rest of the corn dog murffins recipe. I liked that I could control the sugar content. Hot dogs are already full of fat and fillers; adding sugar is not my idea of a meal you wont to give your kids.

The Corn Dog Muffins were very good. I only made half the recipe, and I didn't put the brown sugar in it as we don't like sweet corn bread. Don't use paper baking cups in your muffin tins because they don't come off very easily when the muffin is hot. After they are cooled, the baking cup comes off easily. I fixed these for a quickie supper and served them with canned soup. Very satisfying. Thanks for this really easy recipe.

I made the recipe as stated and I wasn't that impressed. My kids were not either. They said "This really doesn't taste like a corn dog but more like a corn bread muffin with some chopped up hot dog in it".

Hey Tina, Tried the Corn Dog Muffins. Made half the recipe, with hot dogs and half without hot ,but added chillies ,corn kernels as I am a vegetarian....It came out GREAT! The kids had it with mustard and I had it plain.....! The reason why we gave it 5 stars is coz of the few ingredients it needed, taste, look and ease of making. My 7 and 13 year old daughters did everything! Oh,we did not put brown sugar as corn bread mix IS sweet and my 7 year old sliced the dogs....they did the batter ,dogs, batter pattern so they turned out super! They are polishing it off while I am writing this! Thanks.this is a keeper! Meena
