I just made these for lunch today, and they are great. My 6 year old daughter and 2 year old boy are eating them and they are picky. I didn't have boxes of cornbread so I made a cornbread recipe and my daughter cut the hot dogs into small pieces.

These are so much fun and yummy too. I used the cheap hot dogs as suggested by others and after the first batch I chopped the hot dogs into much smaller pieces and tossed them in the batter. They were even better that way. What a huge hit!

I love this recipe! It tastes just like a corn dog, but I use fat free hotdogs, so I have none of the guilt for eating them and feeding them to my kids. It gets an A+++++ P.S. I don't alter the ingredients any, but I do cut the dogs into small pieces and mix into the batter. Thanks for a great kid friendly recipe!

This was quick and easy to make and quite the kid-pleaser. I used cornbread muffin mix instead of bread. The cornbread muffins were just sweet enough. Omitted the cheese and still tasted great. I would like to try making these in mini-muffin pans in the future with slices of hot dogs as an appetizer.

Really good! Big hit with the kids. Instead of a mix, we used Amusement Park Cornbread recipe from this site.

This was great. I cut the hot dogs up into tiny pieces and increased the amount of cheese. I also used a couple of different kinds of chese. They were excellent and I will be sure to make them again. Next time I might add some cooked bacon or sausage for variation.

These muffins were delicious. I made them for the neighborhood kids one day after school and they were a hit. My husband liked them too.

Great kid's dish! My 2 year old son helped me make them- It was fun for both of us and he ate 3 of them! I thought that they would be good if for adults if you added green chiles and served with a 7 layer taco dip and chips!

These just made my day...thank you! I'm wondering if they freeze well. A reviewer who served these at a dinner party said her guests got a laugh because they were so absurd...ummm...should someone explain the joke here.

These were pretty good, I diced up the hotdogs and used turkey dogs for a bit less fat. The kids definitely loved them!

These turned out great! I followed recipe part exactly, though I did cut the dogs in inch long chunks and put two or three in each muffin. The ones with three were better! I thought the brown sugar added something that was needed. I did use cheaper hot dogs, as other reviewers suggested, and they stuck well to the batter once cooked. I would add more cheese next time, or just omit it; We didn't taste it at all.

Easy enough recipe for my oldest son to prepare and handheld food for my youngest is always a draw. Tasty. My husband and I eat these right along with the kids, only with honey-mustard dipping sauce on the side. Would make again.

I had a large package of hot dogs to use and was trying to find a creative way to prepare them. I made this at a dinner party and they turned out dry, but were at hit at the party because it was so absurd. Everyone tried one, and got a really good laugh, but no one said they were good. I have a feeling that if they are requested again it will be for the comedic satisfaction and not because they were very appetizing.

Loved them! I cut the dogs in slices first and fried them with onion till both nice and brown to bring out their flavor. Great taste! They were gone fast.
