It's good. It's easy to make. Will it blow you away -- no, but it's good & flavorful. Per other reviewers: the cornbread is sweet, but boxed cornbread is. You can certainly see where the sloppy joe taste comes in. The meat mixture tastes like its cousin. You might have to cook longer then 15 min to get the golden color on the cornbread or make sure it's done. Vegetable included, I think, would be very good. I made it exact. My spouse really liked it. It had a strong steak sauce flavor.

My family couldn't say "this is good!" enough! The only thing that I altered was that I did not use salsa and upped the ketchup to 1/2 cup (my kids aren't fond of salsa). Oh, and I added a 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the cornbread mix. Delicious! Easy to make and will definitely do again!

This is one of my families favorite recipes. You can add additional veggies to the cassorole, or leave out whats listed. We always add corn, and have used green beans. Usually we leave out the green pepper. We also use worchestire sauce instead of steak sauce. it's great served over rice, or even mix the rice into the casserole.

I made this last night, mainly because I had all of the ingredients already in the fridge or cabinet. I omitted the salsa, onions and peppers because we don't care for them, and also the steak sauce because I realized after I started cooking that we were out of it. The hamburger I used was leftover mix from making burgers the night before, so it was mixed with breadcrumbs, an egg and misc seasoning. I added corn, some cubed potatoes and about a can of crunchy onions for taste so I guess I did play around with the original recipe a lot LOL. I didn't mind it, but my bf (who eats anything I cook) said he didn't really care for it and doesn't even want to eat the leftovers. There was a sweet flavor to it neither of us could figure out, aside from the corn bread, which threw us off. I think the idea of this is good, and with some changes I might like it but probably won't bother trying to make it again.

This is a good recipe, but my husband likes a little kick to his food. We added 1 can Rotel, 1 can kernel corn and some cilantro to the onion, salsa and ground beef. We skipped the ketchup and tomato soup and added 1 cup shredded cheese. Than topped it off with Martha White Mexican-style cornbread (prepared according to package) for some real zest. My husband loved and so did I. We will enjoy the leftovers even more.
