Original Recipe Yield 2 - 3 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup mini candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 2 cups colored crispy rice cereal

Directions

  1. Cream together butter or margarine, sugar, and vanilla. Mix together flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in chocolate candy and nuts.
  2. Form dough into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll in puffed rice cereal, and place on lightly buttered cookie sheet. Flatten.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
