Original Recipe Yield 8 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 (12 inch) flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 4 cups shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans chicken or tuna, drained and flaked
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans RED GOLD® DICED TOMATOES or REDPACK® DICED TOMATOES in JUICE, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on one side of each tortilla and sprinkle with dill weed. Layer equal amounts of lettuce, chicken, RED GOLD® or REDPACK® DICED TOMATOES, green onions and cheese in the center of each tortilla.
  2. Fold the bottom of each tortilla up 2 inches and then roll to enclose the filling. Wrap each tortilla tightly with plastic wrap.
  3. Store in refrigerator until serving time. Cut each wrap into halves before serving.

Footnotes

  • Variation:
  • For hot sandwiches, substitute 2 cups red and green pepper strips for lettuce. Spread RED GOLD® SALSA in place of mayonnaise on tortilla. Prepare as directed. Microwave until cheese is melted, about 30 seconds on HIGH.
  • Tip:
  • Keep your lettuce wrapped in a paper towel and in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and it will stay as fresh as when you bought it.
