I've been looking for a recipe like this. I did use chocolate chips and added 1/4 t of salt and some vanilla extract. They are easy to make and very tasty!

What an interesting concoction! I substituted half white chocolate chips and half raspberry milk chocolate chips. I would recommend this, but it doesn't taste like real brittle. Its like jagged cookie pieces. Good for setting out for guests to nibble on though.

I wasn't impressed with this recipe. I baked until it was just light brown, let cool & broke into pieces as stated. The outer edge(about 1.5" along the edge) was hard and tasted like a slightly stale cookie. The inner portion pretty much just tasted like a soft chocolate chip cookie (I used choc. chips & PB chips mixed). I think just a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe tastes better and gives a better presentation.

These are the best cookies ever... my mom has made them since I was a little girl. We make them a bit differently - we add chopped roasted almonds and chocolate chips after the dough has cookie. Make the dough, bake it until golden brown, then remove from the oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips on the top, as they melt, spread around with a frosting knife, then sprinkle the chopped almonds on top. Let cool, break, then EAT!

I made this recipe using the chocolate chips and everyone loved it. I can't remember where I got it, somehow Imisplaced the recipe and have been going nuts looking for it. Just happened across this one. If you like crunchy, you'll love it too. Thank you so much for sharing it.
