This recipe is AWESOME! I didn't have to change a thing. The Old Bay seasoning is a very nice touch. They taste so much like real crab cakes. I will definitely be making these on a regular basis.

Great recipe, but you have to make sure you squeeze, squeeze, squeeze out as much liquid as you can from the zucchini. My son loved them, and I can only get this kid to willingly eat 4-5 vegetables. They were good cold. Definitely a keeper.

Yum! I followed MANDT2's suggestion and baked these at 400 for around 25 minutes, flipping once. I wasn't sure if I still needed to dredge in flour if I wasn't frying, but I did, and then misted with olive oil on both sides and they turned out great. I highly recommend Remoulade Sauce a la New Orleans from this site on the side. We served these with grilled tomatoes and asparagus...summer on a plate!

I really like this idea. They didn't remind me of crab cakes other than being cakes, but if you're looking for an easy and tasty way to incorporate more veggies into your diet, this is a good one. I used one yellow squash and one zucchini (squeezed all the water out by pressing the shredded squash against the bottom of a colander), and I also added some shredded carrot, onion, and diced green pepper. Lots of Old Bay. I omitted the flour dredge and baked them in the oven at about 400 for about 12 minutes on each side (as someone else here suggested) to save on calories/frying etc. They really turned out great, nice and brown. A little dry, but I think that's because I baked them and because I added some extra crumbs. The Husband says next time he suggest putting a tablespoon or so of olive oil in the mix. I also made a cilantro sour cream to go with them. I'll definitely make them again!

Wow - what an original recipe! I would have never dreamed of this one. It was a cinch to make and my husband who isn't a vegetarian like I am loved them as well. Thanks!

These were great! They are an excellent alternative to real crab cakes. We are trying to cut down on our grocery bill by incorporating two or three vegetarian meals per week, so when I saw this recipe I wanted to try it. I did not have Old Bay seasoning but I found a recipe for it and just made my own. I also didn't have any onion so I used onion powder instead and I added a few grated carrots for color. Frying these made them nice and crispy, though next time I might bake them at 400 degrees (per another reviewer) to cut down on the fat.

Great way to use up the summer squash. These freeze well and make excellent veggie burgers.

I can't get Old Bay Seasoning so I just googled a recipe for it and made my own. Not sure how authentic the flavour was but the zucchini cakes were very yummy.

Being a vegetarian for about 12 years, I really don't remember what crab cakes actually taste like. These were really good though! I also baked them instead of frying them.

It is amazing how much these tasted like crab cakes! So cheap and easy to make. We used whole wheat flour for the dredging. Excellent recipe!

Pressed the squash in paper towels to remove moisture - worked well with no problem making the patties. Doubled the Old Bay - I think it was just right!

I gave this recipe 3 stars for now although I have a feeling it's partly operator error. I chose to bake mine as opposed to frying to avoid the greasiness and they came out alright, but not the best. Next time I will definitely dry out the zucchini more and I think that will help tremendously.

I followed the recipe exactly and to my suprise. Really liked them, although they tasted nothing like crab cakes to me. They did fall apart very easily when I was trying to fry them.
