These are really quite tasty, however I would disagree that they taste like crab cakes. I made these a little like you would potato latkes. I used a towel to squeeze the excess liquid from the zucchini and I used a 1/2 a cup of matzo meal and 1/2 a cup of italian breadcrumbs. I also doubled the amount of Old Bay seasoning. I will definitely be making these again.

Soggy mess. Yucky flavor. The texture made me gag. I must have done something wrong because these are horrid.

Loved these! Took other reviewers' advice and squeezed as much water out of the zucchini as I could and added an extra 1/4 cup of bread crumbs to help them stay together. My husband and I loved them. Great with wasabi dipping sauce.

Yummy! We used low-salt Old Bay & Italian bread crumbs, and it was REALLY SALTY. But, I'm gonna try it again with non-salty bread crumbs.

O..M...G... This recipe rocks! I just tried it and did as some other reviewer suggested and baked instead of fried. I don't have a clue what Old Bay seasoning is so I added Montreal steak spice instead..What a good kick! I also used Italian Seasoned bread crumbs...added a little sea salt, pepper and basil. I had to use EXTRA breadcrumbs because the mix was too wet. It worked out fine!! It was tricky because I made a big batch using 3 eggs in the mix. I just eyeballed the breadcrumbs until I felt the consistency was patti-able. Thanks for this awesome idea!

These are really tasty zucchini patties even though they don't taste like crab cakes to me. I'm sure I'll make them often during zucchini season.

I made these last night from memory after seeing the recipe during the day. Couldn't remember exactly but I was very close. I didn't dredge in flour and I pan fried in light butter. I was out of bread crumbs so used crushed saltine crackers. By mistake, I dumped in a lot of oregano because the top was missing. I also used garlic powder, salt and pepper (I don't have Old Bay). They were AWESOME! I called them "Crabby Patties" and the kids thought they were great, even the fussy neighbour kids that stayed for supper. Thanks so much for this recipe, it was a delicious (and sneaky) way to get my kids to eat their veggies without complaining.

these turned out really great. i followed MANDT2's advice. i salted and drained the zukes first, formed into 6 patties, and oven baked @400 degrees on a greased cookie sheet(mine took at least 15 mins each side though). i served these with baked salmon II from this site and some rice pilaf with spinach. yummy

These were awesome! I did sweat the zucchini. I did not use any oil because I baked them instead of frying them. I also did not use any flour - I just put them on a cookie sheet after shaping them into patties (400 deg, 12 min on each side). I made a mixture of mayo, sour cream, and hot sauce to dip them in.

I would have rated this a 2, my husband a 4. I just didn't think they were very good for the amount of work and the amount of fat. The only change I made was to squeeze some of the liquid out. I think in the future I will stick to plain old fried zucchini!

I love zucchini, and I love crab cakes. I was really excited to try this recipe, but there was nothing too exciting about it. I followed the original recipe exactly--and did take advice to minimize the water from the zucchini. Maybe it would be better served differently--jazzed up--but it just didn't impress me as it is.

I prepared zucchini long time in advance and drained on paper towels. Changed it up a little. Served with a thick slice of tomato on top and drizzled with balsamic reduction (syrup) as the salad for the meal at a dinner party...it was a hit!!!!!!

Great recipe! I used seasoned bread crumbs and added chopped red pepper & dried fire-roasted tomatoes for more flavor. Now I have, yet another, reason to look forward to zucchini season!

I only used 1/2 cup bread crumbs and cooked in the oven vs pan fry. I didn't have onions but I used garlic powder. "horsey" sauce on it makes it the best. yum! I liked it.
