This recipe is amazing!! I've made many trifles, but this is definitely one of the best. I only made one adjustment (otherwise it wouldn't have all fit in the dish) and that was to only use one can of apple pie filling and to crumble all of the cake into the dish. It still tasted and looked great!

Everyone that ate this raved about it. I used a cinnamon cake rather than the yellow, but I'm sure it would be great either way. Instead of cutting my cake into squares, I simply crumbled half the cake for the first cake layer and then crumbled the rest for the second. I poured the caramel right on top and mixed together. Delish!

This was good. I followed the advice of others by adding 5 cups of milk & it was not enough. If I make it again I want more pudding.

I don't care for apple much, but everyone at our Thanksgiving potluck seemed to like it :) I added toffee chips for extra crunch and used cinnamon swirl cake as a previous poster suggested - got lots of compliments and it was the prettiest looking dish on the table

What a wonderful fall dessert! The only change I made was to cut the recipe in half. As per other reviewers, this recipe as is makes a HUGE amount. I don't know how anyone could get it to fit into a trifle bowl. With the recipe cut in half I filled the trifle bowl and another bowl as well. Delicious!

I didn't care for this recipe but my family thought it was good. I cut it in half because I didn't have a large enough bowl. I didn't care for the apples. But it was super easy to make.
