Tastes great. A little too watery.

YUM, YUM, YUM!!! I added a can of tomato sauce (our preference) and a 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, but otherwise it's fantastic! How wonderfully quick and easy - great for a weeknight dinner.

This was a good "starter" chili. My husband and I both agreed that it needed more liquid. Next time I make it I will probably use more diced tomatoes, maybe some tomatoe juice and a can of tomatoe sauce. It also needed a little more spice. I will probably go a little heavier on the chili powder.

made the chili just like they ask, was very good but was missing some sauce so added more tomatoe sauce or paste and 2 onions instead of just a half and added a can of green chilli peppers, and 2 green peppers and some hot sausage. was great i give it 5 stars with the little extra, is also good with out for a quick meal !!

I have tried and tried for 4 years to find a chili recipe that my husband wouldn't complain about. I finally found it. I made a few minor adjustments to it. I doubled the recipe and used 2 cans of Kidney beans and 2 cans of Pinto (that's the way my hubby likes it. I also used chili pre-seasoned diced tomatoes and added 3 cloves of garlic (pressed)while cooking the meat. Everything else stayed the same. It had the full chili flavor that my husband likes and a little sweet taste that I like. Good recipe!

This chili was fantastic! I substituted one can of Bush's Chili Beans for the Kidney beans (they are red beans in a mild chili sauce) I think this really added a deep chili flavor. And I bought diced tomatoes for chili, rather then just plain. Other then that I followed the recipe and it was perfect. I topped it with some cheddar cheese and sour cream. The best thing was that is was really flavorful, and SUPER fast...20 min from start to finish.

I thought it was very good! I loved the flavor the mustard added! I had never heard of mustard in chili before. I also added some basil, oregano, & garlic. Next time I make it I will also double or maybe even triple the amount of chili powder. While it had a really great flavor, the chili was very sweet with little if any spice to it at all. Overall, it was very good, easy, and quick to make!

This is a great base recipe. I don't like runny/watery chili, so instead of water, I used 16 oz of tomato sauce. I also added garlic powder, white pepper, chili powder, and cumin to the beef as it cooked, and more of the same in the pot. I also added a touch of red pepper flakes. The sweetness is quite different from other recipes and nice for a change of pace!

I've never put mustard or vinegar in chili before. I used dijon mustard and apart from reducing the chili powder to half a T, because my husband can't take too much spice, followed the recipe exactly. I really liked the flavour of this chili, but did find there was a little too much liquid for my taste. So when making again I would probably omit the water when adding the rest of the ingredients and then see if it needed it after simmering. Thanks

This recipe worked very well for me as a base for delicious chili. I improvised according to my family's tastes by adding chopped garlic, chopped bell pepper and cumin. I substituted a 16 oz bottle of salsa instead of the can of diced tomatos (I didn't have any on hand). I also substituted ground chicken instead of hamburg to cut down on the fat. My whole family really enjoyed this chili. Thanks for the recipe!

I have to admit, I wondered how good this recipe could be, since most recipes I've seen for chili seem to be more involved and take a lot longer. I was looking for quick dinner ideas, since I have two boys under 3 and cooking time is limited these days. My husband loves chili, and is always looking for the perfect recipe. I think I found it! This recipe is so easy! At first it just looked like meat and beans, I didn't think it had enough liquid and I was going to add some tomato sauce, but I'm glad I didn't, because after simmering for half an hour it was perfect! I used diced tomotoes with basil and oregano, and Grey Poupon Country Dijon (never heard of mustard in chili-boy was I pleasantly surprised!) and it turned out perfect. My husband and I fought over the leftovers the next day, so next time I'll double it. Thanks for a terrific, tasty and so simple recipe!
