Great recipe! I used catfish rather than cod and it was wonderful. I guess any whitefish that you like would be just as good.

Eh, just so-so. We opted for the mayo/lemon juice spread instead of brushing with egg white. My crumb topping was not crisp, but kinda mushy. I had to force it down (picky and pregnant), but my hubby said it was okay. Most likely won't make again.

Mine turned out ok, follwed the recipe but used Tilapia instead since cod was $9.99 a pound when I went to the store. I think it just needed a little something else, will make again but add more spice and salt.

When I made this, I used store bought Italian bread crumbs instead of the plain bread crumbs, Italian seasoning and cornmeal. Also, I squeezed fresh lemon juice on the cod before coating it with the egg. It had good flavor. I will make this again.

I followed the advice of others and brushed the fish with a bit of mayo instead of the egg white. I also drizzled a bit of olive oil on the bread crumbs to make it more moist. Baked in a convection oven and the end result was excellent. Great family dinner, but you could even serve this for a casual get together.

I assume you are using fresh cod. What if the cod is frozen? Does it need to be thawed before cooking - or just cooked a few minutes longer? Thanks!

Well, I never knew this before, but cod fillets have tiny bones in them (was it just the ones I bought??), so this turned out not to be such a hit. I would in the future use something else, like basa. Also, I had a tough time with the crumbs sticking to the fish. I found the whole thing a bit dry, but the flavour itself was ok; I'm sure with a bit of experimenting this could be really good, but I'm not sure I'll make it again.

After reading reviews I decided to forgo the egg whites and rub lemon and mayo on the fish before I spooned the topping on. I forgot the oil in the topping mix which wasn't missed at all in the final product. This was quick and easy and reduced to a great meal for one!

THe best cod I've ever eaten. The only reason why I'm giving it a four star is because I took the suggestion of lemon and mayo instead of egg whites and I think it made a big difference in taste. I sauteed 3 cloves of garlic in oil then added it to a little mayo and lemon juice until it was thin. I then brushed that on the fish instead of the egg whites. It was awesome and super flavorful.

The topping was great, but the fish was awful (I attribute it to the frozen cod - don't ever buy frozen fish, ever). I modified it a bit: I used the mayo and lemon instead of egg per other suggestions. Also, I added a couple of dashes of onion powder, a whole teaspon of the italian season, and a couple of dashes of allepo pepper. I also used romano cheese instead of parmesean. It was great other than the fish. I will definetly try this recipe again with FRESH, non-frozen fish.

I used mayo with a little lemon juice instead of egg white as suggested by other reviewers - hubby liked it, I didn't. I'll try this recipe again as originally written with the egg white.
