I made this for Easter and the family loved it. I did not change a thing. The cake is so moist but not mushy.

Great potluck cake since you can leave it in the pan you bake it in. Everyone loved this cake on Easter Sunday, even my oldest daughter who does not really like coconut!

This was scrumptious! Made this for my dad for his b-day and everyone loved it. Very moist and coconutty. My only changes were to poke holes with the back of a wooden spoon instead of using a fork. I also added 1 tsp. coconut extract to the condensed milk/cream of coconut mixture. I did make this cake a day ahead before I served it. I think this let the flavors really come together. I also had no trouble finding cream of coconut....I found Goya brand in my grocery store. Thanks for a really tasty cake, will make again!

This is the yummiest coconut cake ever!!!!! I want to make a huge batch of this cake, lay down and make snow angels in it!!!! I would give this recipe ten stars. No lie- it is THAT good. The only thing I did different was toast the coconut for color and flavor. YUMMY thank you for sharing!!!

This cake is so delicious and moist! I followed the recipe and my family did not have a problem with the sweetness. We loved it. I'm making it for the second time tonight for company. The only thing I found is that you don't need 16 oz of cool whip for a 13x9 cake. 8 oz is probably enough.

This cake was very good BUT very very very rich. My mother is a sweet loving, coconut loving person, who can eat a coconut cream pie in a sitting or two but she said this cake was too rich, yummy, but to rich. I think next time I was try only dumping half of the mixture over the cake or something.

This was a very moist and delicious cake, it did taste like the Tres Leches cake my brother makes, I love the taste of toasted coconut, so I toasted the coconut flakes and sprinkled them on the cake, it was a hit with the family..

EXCELLENT! I did however use only about 2/3 of the milk & coconut sauce as I tought it would be TOO sweet. I made this over the holidays and had family invited for Dinner. The cake lasted that day and that was it! I couldn't believe my eyes. I will make it again and again! Thank you.

I have made this as a sheet cake for my husband's b'day it was gobbled up by the family very quickly. You will never have leftovers with this cake. I also used this recipe to make cupcakes over the holidays (snowmen cupcakes) and our guest raved about them all week long.

I didn't have coconut cream so I used one can ffsc milk plus one small can of coconut milk. It was really wonderful although I did have a couple "dry spots" in the cake. Next time I will use more coconut milk and be more careful poking my holes! I added coconut extract to the cake mix and some flake coconut on top of the whipped cream as well for a super coconut flavor. Everyone enjoyed this - thanks!

This was a fantastic cake...but I would use unsweetened coconut flakes in the future to avoid cake becoming too sweet. Very moist!!

This is a Yummy cake! I've made it several times and it is always a hit! I now use coconut milk instead of cream of coconut, it cuts the sweetness. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

I made this earlier today for my father-in-law, who loves coconut cake. He loved it. He said that the only thing he would change is the type of cake mix used, he said it was really great but would be even better with yellow cake mix. Also, I would mix the coconut with the whip cream before spreading on the cake. I didn't like the idea of just spreading the coconut on top. Everyone should try this recipe. It is good and pretty easy to make. Thanks for a great recipe =)

Very good cake, everyone liked it. Next time I will use a wooden spoon to poke holes like suggested. I used a big meat fork, and the cake had a hard time absorbing the mixture. Still turned out good!

This cake tasted wonderful!! I didn't use the sweetened condensed milk and it still turned out great. I think it is too much liquid with the milk. There were parts of my cake that were a little soggy without it, but everyone loved the taste of it. Great coconut flavor, but I would just use a bit less liquid next time and add coconut extract to the cake batter.
