Good, easy recipe!! I subbed walnuts for the sunflower nuts and ground flax seed for the wheat germ. Really yummy, whole family liked these.

These were delicious!! Absolutely will be making them again and again. So easy to substitute other healthy ingredients and can sub honey for the corn syrup if desired.

Don't use a dark colored pan when baking sweets. I learned this when making scones. The dark metal makes your baked goods cook too quickly on the bottom resulting in an item being burned or dark brown on the bottom and not done on the top. For great ideas in baking, follow the reviews of someone who has already made the recipe. One reader suggested a glass pan and lower temp/time. This is what I did and the results were great. I used ingredients that I had on hand, including flax seeds. These bars were better than anything that comes in a box from a store. I baked them in a glass pan, 325 degrees for 25 minutes and they were not burned or overdone on the bottom at all. Also please note that you can freeze granola bars if you have any left !

I have made these a couple times in my home and with a student of mine at school and they turn out great every time. I tweeked the ingredients a little..... I replaced the corn syrup with honey, used less chocolate chips and added almonds/pecans/walnuts and craisins/raisins. I think the stated cook time is a bit too long; 15 minutes seems to result in a nice chewy bar... any longer and you'll get a very brown & crunch bar.

Tried making these, thinking it might be similar to some granola bars I tasted at a get-together a while back. The taste is OK, but they browned too quickly on the sides and bottom and were too crunchy.

I made a couple of changes to the recipe. I cooked it at 300 and for about 25 minutes, they turned out chewy, just the way we like them. I also didn't have the last 3 ingredients so I added about a cup or rice krispies instead and they were soooo good. Definatly will make these again!! ***** from us!

I left out the coconut and the sesame seeds, and I used 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup honey and 1/4 cup light corn syrup. The taste was good before baking, but I should have read the other reviews, because the time & temp was way too much. I cooked them less and they are still slightly burnt. However, I think they will still be yummy, and I will probably make them again with my revisions.

This was a waste of ingredients! I could tell the bottom was browning too quickly after the first 10 minutes, so I turned the oven down to 250 and still had to take it out at 20 minutes. And they were way too brown on the bottom, and way too sweet also. I think thats why they browned so quickly, far too much sugar and fat also, due to the whole stick of butter AND the 3/4 cup of peanut butter. This is not a good recipe, and I wouldn't make it again.

These are really good! The only problem I had is that they got too done. I used a metal pan the first time and baked for 25 minutes. I have since discovered that what works for me is to use a glass pan and bake 23 minutes at 325. Great flavor though and very easy. I tried using dried blueberries instead of chocolate chips the second time and prefer them that way. I also don't put in the sunflower seeds or sesame seeds.
