One of the best coconut meringue pies I have ever had! Yummy!!! Make sure to keep stiring the mixture is you stop this might cause the runny middle some people have complained about. Also make sure you completely cool the pie before putting it in the fridge.

This is my first time making a meringue pie and the recipe was perfect. I did add an extra egg white to the meringue and I may put a little less sugar in the filling next time.

This recipe was a sure winner for my husbands grandmother. We celebrated her 88th birthday. Her favorite pie is coconut cream, so my sister-in-law and I found it and made it for her. I did substitute the milk for half-and-half. His grandmother has asked me for the recipe, so I will give her a copy. Thanks!

This coconut cream alone is awesome. Very yummy! I added in a spinkle of coconut extract along with the vanilla to enhance the coconut flavor further. It is easier if you have someone help with adding the egg mixture in. To make sure the eggs do not scramble you need to whisk the mixture real fast and it is helpful to have someone else be there to pour it in while you mix. Also make sure you cook the mixture on the stove top as directed until nice and thick or you will get a watery cream pie. Will make again and again. The meringue top is great as well..I will try whipped topping on top instead next time and after that plain with toasted coconut on top. Will be keeping this in my recipe box.

One of the worst custard filling recipes ever! I followed the directions and measurements exactly. Tastes good but coconut cream filling is beyond runny...I made 2 pies and threw them both in the garbage. What a waste! Would not try this recipe again.

This really is an exceptional dessert, one of the best I've ever made--and I don't say that often. The only change I made was to make a graham cracker crust rather than a traditional pie crust because graham cracker crusts hold up better with refridgeration.

I followed this recipe exactly, except I swapped the vanilla for almond extract, and I added a little more coconut to the filling. It was simply the best coconut cream pie I've ever had!!!

Recently my wife and I made a 50 mile round trip, to a small eatery that specializes in pies. For desert, we had the most wonderful Coconut Cream Meringue Pie. It was so good that when we got home, I went to the All recipes site, and found this recipe. Prior to making this pie, I did not even know what meringue was made of, and it was a suprise to find out. So now you know my level of cooking knowlege. I followed this recipe and could not believe it tasted just as good, if not better than the pie we had driven 50 miles to have. And, it cost less to make than just one piece of pie we bought there. ($3.75 + tax for one piece of pie..$22.50+tax for a whole pie.) I am impressed with how simple this recipe was to make, and how well it turned out. And, with my skill level, I did not make changes to the recipe. "JUST WONDERFUL!"

As I've made this recipe once before, I decreased the amount of coconut to 3/4 cup and the sugar for the meringue to 1 tablespoon per egg. The next time I make it I'll also decrease the amount of cornstarch (as I thought it was a bit too thick) and add toasted coconut to the custard filling. Excellent coconut pie recipe!!! Definitely a keeper.

I have used this exact recipe for years. It has been a hit with family and friends. I use coconut extract in place of the vanialla. Great recipe. Thanks for posting.

This was very good. My hubby's alltime favorite pie. This set up nicely and had great flavor/texture. I did use "Never ever fail meringue" from this site, as my meringue pies have been hit or miss lately. Thanks for the recipe!

this was my first time making this type of pie and it turned out wonderfully! my husband loves coconut cream pie and rated this "delicious." the recipe was very easy to follow. i had to double the meringue though. i also didn't beat my egg whites long enough so i didn't get pretty peaks like in the photo. that is my own fault. great recipe!!!!

Excellent! I have made this recipe twice and it turned out perfect each time. The last time I doubled it and the results were the same. The meringue stays nice and cuts without sticking to the knife.
