Very tasty, I did change some small details. I used 1/2 real onion chopped, which cooks just fine in the oven. I was also in a time crunch and while the meatballs were cooking in the oven I cooked the sauce, but it was not breaking up well, so I got my hand mixer to make the sauce ingredients nice and smooth. (No cranberry sauce lumps)

I made these for my open house and they were AWESOME! Everyone kept asking about the meatballs. The only thing I did diffrent was I added a pack of beefy onion soup mix to my meatball mixture. Thanks for sharing!

Very easy and pretty good. I didn't give 5 stars because I think the recipe didn't make enough sauce, I had to double it.

I liked them, but everyone else thought they were too sweet. I don't think I will make them again. I do prefer my grandmother's recipe which calls for tomato soup.

I made these ahead and refrigerated the meatballs in th sauce. I heated them in the crockpot for 2 hours before serving. I also doubled the sauce. I received a lot of kudos and it was nice to prep the dish in the morning and have it ready for our party in the evening.

these meatballs were ok. I think they were too sweet. My guests said they were good but not many disapeared from the table. My italian friends thought the sauce was tomato and was expecting italian style meatballs which didn't go over very well. Sorry despite all the rave reviews these were just ok

I have made this a few times so I have some tips. 1) Definitely cook them in the oven first. This helps them keep the shape so you can actually stir them in the crock pot. 2) Definitely do not use the amount of chili sauce this recipe says to use. I used the Sriacchi chili sauce (the bottle w/ the rooster) and only did about 1/4 total and I doubled the recipe. I also like it spicey. I took others' advice and added ketchup and worchestchire in place of water. I also added a couple tablespoons of bbq sauce because I had some in the fridge. I have made this with and without brown sugar and couldn't really tell the difference. This time I didn't have any brown sugar so I added a squirt of maple syrup although it probably didn't even need it. This is a great recipe for potlucks and I got great compliments both times I've made it. Just watch the chili sauce or some peple won't be able to handle it!

Excellent Sauce. I use this for lil smokies or polskas as well. Big hit when I bring them to work for the goodie table. No leftovers. The chili sauce called for is in a bottle like Heiz Chili Sauce. Don't know what the other reviewers used for it to be so hot and spicy. I use a regular size can of jellied cranberry sauce, 1 bottle of chili sauce, small onion chopped and 2 TBSP of brown sugar. You can substitute 1 TBSP of vinegar in place of lemon juice. Great for the crockpot.

I know, this is lame of me to even rate this recipe after I accidentally used HOT chili sauce and the meatballs were literally on fire in our mouths. But, the next day, after refridgerating them and letting them "chill out" (no pun intended), they are really good. I used venison burger, I always do. I know I will try this again without burning my mouth off and using mild or medium chili sauce. Even way too hot, they were pretty darn good.

I used store bought meatballs and double the sauce ingredients, using 2 jard of chili sauce. I heated everything up in the crockpot. I made these for an 11 yr old's Bday, and the kids did not care for them (should have went with sweet n sour). I thought they were ok, the sauce was a little tangy, but mellowed out by the next day.

I made these for dinner for my family and they were superb! I accidentally put Extra Hot Chili sauce in and didn't notice until it was too late to fix it. The meatballs came out good but very spicy, but I could tell they would be 5 star worthy if I put in mild chili sauce. Thanks for sharing this tasty recipe!
