Great waffles! I followed the recipe as is, but added 2 additional tablespoons of sugar. I ended up with 5 large waffles. Leftovers heated great in the toaster oven.

This is a really good waffle recipe. I made some changes to it. I added half a teaspoon of cinnamon. I think you could do half a teaspoon of salt and with all of that baking powder you have to sift it because we had lumps. We thought it was light and fluffy and not too sweet.

Really great! I did add a bit extra sugar and it was easy and fast. They turned out nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Thanks!

These were delicious, my family really enjoyed them and my DH said to not lose this recipe. I did add 1 more tablespoon of sugar, but kept everything else the same. My belgian waffle maker made 6 waffles with this recipe.

Great recipe. I used real butter and used 3 tbsp sugar instead of 2.

These are so good! We'll never buy boxed again. I took some suggestions, I upped the butter to 1/2 cup, 2 tbsp vanilla and 5 tbsp sugar. I sifted and separated :D YUMMY! I am going to freeze a batch and see how they hold up to reheating! My DD asked "why" then tasted one and with big eyes said it was the best waffle she'd ever had, including some restaurant brunch waffles! I always froze my own pancakes and thought why not waffles. (Nothing like homemade to cut out as many genetically engineered foods as possible). My motive was no GMO's and no MSG, but that is lost in the FABULOUS taste and texture of these waffles!

Good base recipe. A bit bland. Next time I think we'll add more sugar and/or vanilla. Needs to be sweeter.

This is a good base. I topped with fresh fruit and yogurt. I think it is a little bland and needs some flavor.. cinnamon or something...

Well I have never made waffles before and hardly eat them so I don't have much to compare them to. My husband requested them and I made them as is (usually I read reviews and adjust all my recipes but I didn't have time) I may have used a little less butter then it asked for but they were still really good. I topped it with honey and it was great.

I'm going to give this a 5 anyways since I subbed a bunch of things. I used margerine instead of butter, and whole wheat allpurpouse instead of white flour, and I don't have any vanilla so I used lemon juice. They were good but not excellent, as I'm sure they would be if I didn't mess with things. However, I did enjoy them more after adding some chocolate chips to the batter after I had cooked half of them. I also tried coconut but I couldn't taste it, so I won't bother with that again.

Fabulous waffles and a great base recipe. It's easy to adapt to your needs. This is the second time we've made them, and I was thrilled to see they worked just as well with whole wheat pastry flour as they had with all purpose. I also through frozen blueberries into the last few waffles and they were a great addition.

Having never made a waffle until now, and having never even eaten one other than an Eggo, I have no basis to compare this recipe with any other. Having said that, all I know is hubby and I enjoyed our breakfast this morning! In comparing this recipe with other similar recipes, including the one included in the manual, this one called for twice the amount of salt, so I reduced it by half keeping all other ingredients and measurements the same, and beat the eggs well to lighten them up. The waffle was crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside, with good flavor. My only criticism, and certainly no fault of the recipe, is that my waffle maker anyway, cooks unevenly, with some parts of the waffle browning more than others. Maybe it just takes practice spreading the batter?
