I can't tell you how long my Mother has been bugging me to make her Tiramisu and I've always told her no, that it would be too hard to make. Was I wrong! This recipe is wonderful and not so hard to make after all. I did find the soft lady fingers at Wegmans and didn't have to split them in half as they are already split. I used a mix of coffee liquor and some of our morning coffee that I had saved (although I did forget to brush the 2nd layer of lady fingers). I also used the mascarpone substitute from this site. It was wonderful and a big hit with my family, my Mother especially! Needless to say, she got to keep the leftovers :-)

This is one of the best Tiramius I have ever tested and I can't beleive I made it. I followed the recipe as is cutting back only on the sugar and everyone loves it. Thank you for this wonderful recipe.

Overall an exceptionally delicious end result! As others have mentioned, be sure to add more coffee/liquid and get SOFT lady fingers that soak up the liquid. Also, make this dessert a day in advance and refrigerate for AT LEAST 24 HOURS to ensure it will be the correct consistency upon serving. These were the 2 things I overlooked- despite my oversight it tasted great! I'm excited to try it again, implementing these learnings.

I have made this recipe numerous times to rave reviews. I usually use the soft lady fingers that I buy at Trader Joe's (about 1 1/2 packages). They taste so much better than the harder lady fingers that are found elsewhere. I also buy the mascarpone cheese at Trader Joe's and find that one 8 oz tub is sufficient. Instead of all Kahlua, I mix together about 1/4 cup stong coffee, 2 Tbsp of Kahlua, and 1-2 tsp rum extract. I think that the rum flavor really makes the Tiramisu taste special. I make this in a 8" trifle bowl, alternating 4 layers of lady fingers with 4 layers of the cream mixture. I usually just finish up with the cocoa powder and skip the grated chocolate on top.

I've made this twice now and it is one of my family's favorites! I used Starbuck's Coffee Liquer which made it especially good!

Unbelievable, this rivals any of the tiramisu we've had at numerous restaurants over the years. Rich, creamy, full of flavor with great texture, this desert only gets better over time.

Loved this recipe. I made it for X-mas eve dinner. I ran out of coffee liquer so I used a chocolate flavored one and it was so good! I will look forward to making it again and again and again...

Absolutely Perfect! I would not recommend using a trifle dish because it makes it too deep and hard to serve. Maybe a 9x9 dish if you don't have a springform pan. I did not dip the lady fingers just brushed heavily and they were the perfect consistency. The longer it sat the better it tasted so definitely make a day or two before you need it.

I found this exact same recipe on the back of my package of ladyfingers. Instead of coffee liqueur, I brushed the spongy ladyfingers with coffee. I used two 3-ounce packages of ladyfingers and assembled the tiramisu in a springform pan. I found that I fell short of a few ladyfingers, and I have yet to find a successful technique of layering them in the bottom of the springform pan in a neat and organized fashion. I refrigerated the tiramisu overnight but made the mistake of letting it come to room temperature before serving. You MUST serve the tiramisu as soon as it comes out of the refrigerator or else it will be too soft and literally melt! I've never tasted tiramisu before; the adults liked the coffee flavor and even thought that the tiramisu was a little too sweet. In contrast, the kids disliked the bitter coffee flavor and wanted a sweeter taste. But perhaps that's just how tiramisu tastes. It's more of an adult, not a kid, dessert. At least with a dusting of cocoa powder and chocolate shavings, the presentation was lovely.

I made this for dessert on Christmas Eve to be eaten Christmas day. I used 1 1/2 cups of mascarpone cheese as someone suggested and alls i could find were the crunchy lady fingers. They worked perfectly. I also used 1/2 c. water and 2 TBLS of instant coffee and 1/2 c. coffee liqueur mixed, rolled the lady fingers in the mixture to soak for a few seconds then lined the pan. (I did not have a problem with chewy lady fingers.) I also didn't have a bar of semisweet chocolate so used some chocolate chunk chips i had left over, put them in a food processor to crumble and this worked really well for the topping. Thank you for this recipe! It was perfect!

This recipe came out perfect! I followed the recipe exactly as it was and there were no changes that needed to be made. I used the soft lady fingers and Kaluah for the coffe liquor. It tasted delicious and it got a lot of compliments and it looked beautiful.

This recipe is excellent, I made it a couple of times and have just gotten great reviews for it. I made my own version on the mascarpone cheese with one of the suggestions from the reviews and used just instant coffee to soak the ladyfingers. I have a nut allergy so I made my own ladyfingers with the ladyfinger recipe from this site. Excellent, definitely a thumbs up, fast, easy and great to take at a party.

Terrific! I made this in a 9"x12" pan and 9 oz of ladyfingers was plenty. I'd also add a little coffee/expresso to moisten the ladyfingers more next time.

I made this recipe in a 9x13 dish - usig 2 8oz packages of mascarpone and 2 packages of soft lady fingers from Trader Joes... It fed 15 easily and was a total hit. I've had multiple requests already for the recipe! I have to admit, it was one of the best I've had... and I'm a Tiramisu fan!

I subbed the mascarpone with 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/4 c. cream (which is what you have leftover from a pint in this recipe-so you'll use it all if you buy that size), and 2 T sour cream. Also subbed the liqueor w/ 1/3 rum as mentioned in here someplace. AWESOME RECIPE. 1 more thing for my friends to ask me to make for their birthday parties. Ha!

Amazing! I took the finished product to a party and it was a HUGE hit! I used 1 cup sugar and 8oz. regular mascarpone, and 8oz. tiramisu coffee flavored mascarpone. YUM! I also used espresso and Kahlua rather than the coffee liquor.
