Very good. I used 2 loaves of whole wheat bread instead of the stuffing cubes and added 3 chopped apples after mixing the mushroom mixture with the bread cubes. It went over very well.

Made a special dinner for my son home for spring break from State College. Believe me he was shocked, it turned out awesome. I'm brand new at the table when it comes to cooking, about a month. So far with only a couple mistakes, every dish and desert have been very good and fun to make. I'm learning to read carefully and to pay close attention to detail and stay focused. I used an oven roaster chicken 8lbs, I bought on sale at the local market @ .88 cents per pound. I cut the recipe in half. I made a few changes at the suggestion of my wife, the former cook in our home for 45 years.Added 1 peeled, chopped Jonagold apple. Added 1/2 teaspoon more McCormick poultry seasoning. Added 1/4 teaspoon McCormick Worcestershire black pepper. Added 1 egg beaten. Ditched the mushrooms. Keep in mind I cut the recipe in half. I really like the reviews they add confidence and insight to my new found hobby in cooking. My up coming meals will be Chicken Pot Pie IX and homemade Chicken Soup. That chicken at .88 cents a lb. will sure go a long way.

A winner! I left out the mushrooms because I just didn't have any. The stuffing was still delicious. The turkey was moist and delicious. I also brined it first using the Citrus Turkey Brine recipe from this site.

Very good...husband says it was the best stuffing he's ever had. I did not stuff a bird, I just wanted a good baked stuffing for a side dish. I did not have sage so I added additional poultry seasoning. I also love celery so I used 5 ribs w/ leaves. It was so good!

Everyone raved at my stuffing this year, thanks to this recipe! I tripled the batch, and omitted the mushrooms (the kids don't like them). One batch I used for stuffing the turkey. The other two I made into dry stuffing, one plain as per the recipe, one with vegetarian sausage, dried cranberries and walnuts. All three were wonderful. Thank you for a great recipe...this one is definitely a "keeper".

I cut the recipe in half and added almonds to the mix. Also, we thought it best to use fresh herbs for flavor. My family loved it, but I think I'd like another consistency next year. Perhaps something crazier with dried fruit and such. This was a bit standard, as intended.

We had this for Thanksgiving dinner last night and it was a hit! I was a little unsure of how moist to make it with the warm water, and was afraid when it got close to "gooey" level that I had ruined it, but I stuffed the turkey with it, and it was fantastic. It still looked a bit too moist when I pulled it out, but tasted fantastic. Will definitely use again next year!

Great recipe! At first I thought mushrooms in stuffing was weird but they were a nice addition. I used a package of poultry herbs that was fresh. Fantastic flavor! Stuffing disappeared very quickly.

I've never followed a recipe for stuffing - just did it "like mom did" for years. She agreed this is better than her's has become! Moist and delicious. This one is a keeper.

I loved this stuffing! My son, who hates cooked mushrooms thought it was the best stuffing I ever made. It had a lot of flavor. I will be using this stuffing from now on.

My stuffing had been getting less satisfactory every time I made it, and I needed help. This was perfect. The mushrooms seem to add something without overpowering the stuffing. And it was good to get back to measuring, which is probably why my last few had been not so good, I was getting lazy about measuring and my judgement was insufficient.

I used this recipe for my first Thanksgiving dinner with the new in-laws. Everything turned out perfect. I used homemade chicken stock instead can chicken broth and also substituted chicken stock instead of warm water on the stuffing. Thanks for the wonderful recipe and for helping me impress my in-laws.

This stuffing had awesome flavor!!! I did make a mistake though. I used bread and sliced it up myself and used the same amounts...mine came out soggy lol, but now I know better. Next time I think I will either make it with bread again and use less liquid or use the half french bread and half sour dough like another user did.....either way this is definately a keeper in my house. I haven't had a wonderful stuffing like this in years!!!

I must admit that I did not use the turkey recipe but what i did was take the stuffing recipe and use it! I was very satisfied with it. You know how everyone loves the stuffing more than the turkey....It had a great flavour and was so moist. Definately a keeper!
