I followed the recipe exactly, and I wouldn't change a thing. It tastes just like the Sangria that is served at my local Spanish restaurant. I even used Two Buck Chuck from Tader Joes. It got rave reviews from all of my guests, and as mentioned by other reviewers, this does sneek up on you so watch out!

This was great! I made it using a pineapple rum and a merlot. My husband and his friends really enjoyed it. Drink with caution because it will sneak up on you!

This recipe was a huge hit! Everyone was complementing me on it. I used ginger ale instead of sugar and pineapples instead of lemons and limes.

excellent. I don't care for a super sweet sangria and this one hits the mark. I like to put a hearty splash of cold and just opened club soda to the pitcher.

Delicious! However when I made mine I used a grapefruit instead of an orange (there was a mix-up at the grocery). I also used Malibu Banana Rum with a Merlot. I will definitely make again and maybe reduce the amount of sugar. It doesn't need the total amount of suggested sugar (or at least the way I made it ;) )

I did not add rum...I was just trying to use up some red wine that I had lying around. Maybe that was key to making it on the sweeter side...it just came out like cold tart red wine with fruit. It was cool and refreshing though on one of the first super warm nites. Will try again with rum or vodka.

This was outstanding! I made it for a 'girl' party & everyone enjoyed it! It did sneak up on you, but that was what we were looking for! I added in strawberries & a little more sugar and also used Captain Morgan Spiced Rum... very good.

So yummy. I used a Australian Shiraz and cut the rum to 1 cup. Added a splash of lemon lime soda and served really chilled I mean ICY and it was so yummy! Perfect

Made this over the weekend as well. It was just "o.k." - nothing too spectacular. I let it sit overnight after reading some suggestions, but felt that it was too thick to drink. Maybe will use some sort of carbonated orange soda next time.

I made this for the adults at my daughter's 12th birthday party which we had on Cinco de Mayo. It was excellent and my first attempt to make Sangria. This is definitely a keeper. I used regular rum, and never thought to use spiced rum. I will try that next. I did add extra orange juice because it seemed a little strong at first. Maybe a little less rum would work too. I will be making this again.

We only used 1 cup of the rum, and the taste of it was still pretty strong. I think 1 and 1/2 cups would have been too much for us. I served it for Mother's Day, and everyone cut their drinks with Sprite. Made them really yummy and fizzy and little lighter and more refreshing. We'd make this one again.
