In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Pour 1/2 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add tuna steaks. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 2-4 hours. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade.
Drain and discard marinade from tuna. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starting grill. Grill tuna, uncovered, for 5-7 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with the reserved marinade.

I only marinated for 1 hour and 45 minutes and the entree turned out perfect. I also have a gas range and to reach medium temp, I had to cook tuna on medium heat for 4 minutes both sides. The flavor was perfect!

Very yummy tuna & perfect with asparagus or broccoli. I substituted tsuyu sauce (the soup base for the cold soba noodles you get at Japanese restaurants) plus a little extra for the soy sauce, and rice vinegar for the white wine vinegar, and it worked beautifully. I also followed another reviewer's advice and cooked the tuna on the stovetop for 4 min. each side on medium heat. It came out just the way I like it, slightly pink in the middle.

I was very sloppy when I made this, and it was still delicious. I'm in college and didn't want to wash many dishes, so I just approximated the marinade and used ground ginger and garlic. I also cut one steak in half flat-wise so I could cook it better on the stove top. It turned out wonderfully! Delicious, simple and fast.

This is the only way I cook my tuna. I only marinate it for 20-60 min. from partially frozen and it still has amazing flavour. I just cooked it for company and received rave reviews. I passed the recipe on to them as well and he's a chef!

Great flavor! I didn't have white wine vinegar, so I substituted balsamic, but otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and we loved it. Just make sure that each steak is less than an inch thick.

Another big hit with the family! I used about 2 tablespoons of sesame oil to make up the volume of olive oil. I also used some rice vinegar with the white wine vinegar. I marinated for two hours, then cut the tuna steaks into cubes for kabobs. I grilled them on medium heat for about 8 minutes. Served with lemon and lime wedges. Everyone raved. Thanks!
