Great fast dish! I did follow the suggestions and seasoned the chicken with the lemon pepper, soy sauce & garlic-it turned out great and chicken did not dry out! The rice was just right, flavor was not overpowering. This will become a dinner regular in my home!

I too modified this recipe. It was very plain to start with. I have a son who is a little funny about the texture of rice. It has to be firm or he can't eat it. And we eat high protein meals. So, I used: 2 cans of chunk chicken with broth 5 or 6 boneless thighs 2 cans of chicken broth 3/4 C orange juice a bag of chopped frozen onion 3 Tbsp lemon pepper (adjust to your taste) salt (to taste) mix all the liquid together in a large skillet, add onion, and all the chicken. Bring to a boil and cook til the chicken is well done and the onion is tender (about 20 min). I cooked the rice separately. You can use chicken broth and orange juice or water for the liquid. 1 C rice to 2 C liquid until it was done and dry. Bring liquid to a boil and reduce heat and cook 20 min on low. Then served the chicken mixture over the rice. Worked like a charm, is great for leftovers and the rice won't be soggy today or left over. My family loved it! We will do it again. Next time we may serve it over angel hair pasta for a different kind of meal.

For some reason I didn't look at the reviews until I had already started cooking! When I read about the lack of flavor, I added some pepper and italian seasoning to the rice. I used Basmati rice so it cooked pretty quickly and I was afraid the chicken wouldn't be done. So, I cooked the chicken separately and added a sprinkling of soy sauce, garlic and some ginger. Only when the chicken was totally done did I put it along with the juices from cooking it over the rice. Not my favorite thing I've ever made, but it was still pretty good!

after reading the reviews in an attempt to give chicken more flavor i cut the chicken into strips, and marinated it in some orange juice, soy sauce, worstechire sauce, for 10 min or so, i think it will help.

Reading others say it was a bit dull, I threw some garlic, sage, a tiny pinch of rosemary and just a splash of worshishire sauce. My kids' only complaint was the onion chunks. Otherwise, they gobbled it down! The base recipe is a wonderful start and I think the orange really adds to the flavor and moisture of the chicken. I will be adding this to our favorites to try again!

Really good. Chicken was moist, also added celery, green pepper and mushrooms to the rice. I did add lemon pepper and season salt to the chicken. Next time I might try more orange juice.

I followed the recipe and then used the extra glaze suggested by another reviewer (which wouldn't thicken properly). The flavor was okay if you like kind of sweet rice, the chicken was great, but the rice ended up bloated and kind of overcooked. My kids HATED everything about it except for the chicken and it wasn't my favorite either. I will try it again, though. I will use the sauce and cook chicken in it again, but make the rice separately in my rice cooker and then just serve the chicken and sauce over top.

The rice was excellent! Since everyone said the chicken was bland,I cut it up in chuncks and boiled it in 1 cup orange juice and 1 tsp llemon peper. Then I stirred it in the rice with the parsely, great!

I am giving this three stars, because the rice actually turned out really yummy, although with the addition of some spices. The chicken though - I am always wary of using whole skinless chicken breasts, because they usually dry out by the time they are fully cooked and this was no different. I seared them first as per recipe, but by the time my rice was done, they were actually not only pink, but raw inside - not a good thing with chicken. I removed the breasts from the rice, put them in a separate pot and continued cooking in a little extra broth for another 7 minutes. When they were finally done, they were extremely dry and the chicken had not absorbed any of the orange flavor. Our dog ended up enjoying most of the chicken, and that's a shame. Overall, the idea with the orange juice has great potential though. I added some lemon pepper, salt, garlic and orange zest and as mentioned above, the rice was great. I will try this again with skinless chicken thighs, which are much more moist and less prone to overcooking.

This recipe came out really good. Me and my roommate really enjoyed this one. However, I added more seasoning to the chicken. I used seasoning salt, pepper, and onion powder. This really gave the chicken more flavor.I also let the chicken sit in the refrigerator (covered) for about one hour so that the flavor could really seep into the chicken.

We all liked it. I did feel like it needed a little more orange flavor. It had to cook a little longer than it called for, but it was moist and good.

This recipe lacks flavor especially the chicken. I am going to dice the remaining chicken and add some cream soup and bake it.

I marinated the breasts in wheat-free tamari, crushed fresh garlic and some orange juice. Instead of white rice I used brown, organic basmati rice. I also used a different, higher grade chicken broth (sorry Swanson). After I added the chicken to the rice, I placed the orange slices and some minced orange over the rice. It was delicious and my family really liked it.

this recipe was quite boring,so I switched it up a little. add a little bit of lemmon zest,1tbsp of soy sauce, lemmon pepper to taste and 1tsp of chopped garlic and it really brought the whole thing to life, not only was the chicken more flavorful, but the rice was awsome!
