INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cut into thick sticks
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 4 teaspoons butter

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place 3/4 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into a gallon size resealable plastic bag. Seal the bag and shake to blend the sugar mixture. Add the sweet potato sticks, seal the bag, and turn to evenly coat the potatoes with the sugar mixture.
  2. Pour the canola oil into a deep fryer and heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Add the sweet potatoes, and cook until golden, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels, then place on a serving plate.
  3. Place the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and butter into a pan. Warm over medium heat until butter is melted; drizzle over the sweet potatoes.

Totallyhotchick, broman, MrJayDog, GrannySue, foodcritic, choolatelover305, greatTaste, bigmike, sexylove, jazzylove, & Ms Tasha are all the same person, who happens to be the poster of this recipe. If you read her profile, and all the postings under the above names...it's really quite obvious (the spelling mistakes, etc.). I'm sure she's not the only one who's done this, but I just thought I'd give everyone a heads up before making this recipe. It could be a great recipe, I really don't know. But I think that recipes posted on this site should be able to stand on their own, and not be helped along by the one that actually posts it.
