I've made this twice since I found the recipe last week - it's amazing, and yes can easily be made in 45 minutes! Don't change anything - it's the perfect cake to bring to potlucks and group gatherings, and the wonderful smell will make you crazy.

This cake is the most moist cake I've ever had! It was so delicious! It's not overly chocolaty, with such a nice touch of cinnamon! I made a few adjustments based on other reviews; I cut the sugar to 1.5 cups (it was still plenty sweet), used heaping teaspoons for the cinnamon and a heaping fourth cup of cocoa. I used regular milk because I didn't have any buttermilk. It was awesome! I didn't make the icing, but I'm sure it would be delicious too :) I will definitely make this again and again!

This recipe makes magnificent cupcakes. Just as moist as boxed mixes with better flavor. Made exactly 24 cupcakes; baked at 350 for 25 minutes. Only changes I made were to use dark cocoa instead of regular because that's what I had, and I added a pinch of cloves to accent the cinnamon. Frosted cinnamon flavored buttercream striped with chocolate. BEST CAKE EVER!!!!

I made this cake for my dad's birthday this year. It turned out amazingly delicious and everyone was impressed! Took the leftovers to work and they were quickly gobbled up. I substituted 6 Tablespoons of milk for the whipping cream in the frosting.

I had this cake since I was a kid. My mom would make it all the time and she got this recipe from my aunt. I thought it was a family secret but I guess not. If you love the taste of cinnamon and chocolate then this cake will make your mouth water for days!!!

I made this recipe into 24 moist, surprising, lucious cupcakes! I was looking to mix a friend's two dessert favorites for her birthday and found this recipe. The surprise wasn't just for her, though, at her surprise party... guests were mostly pleasantly surprised at the additional flavor of cinnamon in the chocolate cake! I took the advice and cut down the sugar in the recipe and also added a bit more chocolate (I used 1/4 cup powded cocoa and a half tablet of dark chocolate- both unsweetened). Also, who doesn't love a cake that you can frost while still warm?

This is my favorite cake. To help make the cake itself more chocolaty, after stirring together all the components of the cake, add in 1 cup of melted semi-sweet chocolate morsels, folding them in to the batter. This ups the chocolate a good bit!

This cake is absolutely AMAZIZNG! I made it as cupcakes once, and then as a 2 layer cake the second time, and people thought it was a store bought cake. The only thing I changed was the buttermilk in the cake and the whipping cream and walnuts in the icing. I used regular milk, and no nuts and the cake still turned out simply stunning! Definately one I suggest to anyone in a time crunch, OR if you're looking for something that will blow the socks off your taste buds.
