I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but the batter was much too sticky. After I added the cocoa mixture to the dry ingredients, it became like playdough. It came out aright I think, but I will not attempt this again

I highly recommend this recipe! The flavor is outstanding, and the cake has a moist, tender crumb. The cinnamon really makes this cake special. The frosting is really good too...not too sweet.

Potential for 5 stars. Very good texture and crumb; very moist. It's not airy nor spongy as with a box cake mix, which is a good thing! I'd give it 5 stars if I didn't have to make personal accommodations: coffee and dark chocolate gave more depth to enhance chocolate flavor and texture. decadence.

This is a good cake. I'd cut the butter a bit and up the cinnamon next time. Comes out very soft and tastes like speculaas (sp?).

I have officially found my new favorite cake. This is the best flavor! I love mexican chocolate, which is basically chocolate with a little cinnamon, and this cake has the best of both! YUMMY!

This cake was very moist, but I wasn't impressed by the cinnamon flavor. It just didn't do what I expected.

This cake is great! I made it in a 9" x 13" pan, because I made a birthday cake that I had to eventually carve into the shape of flip flops! :) I am always a little worried about not using a box mix, but this is the first scratch recipe I tried that was not dry. I added a half package of pudding mix--just to be sure. The combination of the chocolate and cinnamon is great. Instead of the frosting that was listed, I made white chocolate cream cheese frosting, since the cake had to be a color. Sometime I would like to try it with the suggested frosting. I'm sure it's great!

Yum! I followed the directions exactly and wouldn't change a thing. Very moist and flavorful. The cinnamon in this makes it an excellent dessert paired with mexican food.

I'm a big fan of chocolate, so i'm a bit disappointed that the taste isn't chocolaty at all. All i can taste is the sugar!! It's way too sweet. I suggest you cut back on the powdered sugar. I only use 300gr and it's already too sweet. The cake itself is pretty good (with 2cups of sugar it pretty sweet already), but when you add the icing it become sugar galore. And u can add more cinnamon and vanilla to the cake if you like, coz i found it a bit bland.

This cake was so moist and delicious. The cinnamon makes the cake seem less sweet (in my opinion) and adding the frosting when hot makes the frosting and cake meld into one another. I baked it for a couple of extra minutes in a 13 x 9 pan.

Great flavor! You can really taste the cinnamon when it's hot, but it mellows down considerably with great results as it cools down. Also works great as muffins.
