This is an open-face apple pie that 's baked up with apples, and a bit of sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on. When it emerges bubbly and brown from the oven, it 's topped with marshmallows and popped into the oven again until the top is melted and golden.

This terrific recipe makes seven quarts of apple pie filling, which will come in handy as delicious gifts for friends and family. A sugary and spicy syrup is cooked up and poured over sliced apples that are tightly packed into sterilized jars. Then the jars are cooled, and stored until it 's gift-giving time.

Simple and delicious, this no crust pie is a pie plate filled with a delightful heap of apples sprinkled with orange juice, and topped with a crumbly sugar, flour, and butter mixture with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. It bakes in less than an hour and is lovely served warm.

With applesauce, this apple crisp offers twice the apple goodness of others. Applesauce, brown sugar and cinnamon are combined, and stirred into sliced apples. The mixture is then piled into a large baking dish and topped with sugar. The crisp is then baked in the oven for one hour.

After sampling this cake at a picnic, I had to find the lady who made it to ask for the recipe. I've made it - and shared the recipe myself - many times since.

When my children were little, they liked fruit, so I tried to make several dishes with different fruit. This recipe was one of their favorites. We lived close to an apple farm, so we always had apples on hand. -Helen Steele, Polk City, Florida

This tasty apple butter is a real slow cooker, but well worth the wait. Depending on the sweetness of the apples used, the amount of sugar may be adjusted to taste.

Triple Crunch Apple Salad

The crunch part consists of crisp apples, celery and toasted hazelnuts, but there are also dates and orange juice in this wonderful salad. And the dressing is heavenly - sour cream, mayonnaise and whipped topping. Chill and serve to four.
