I made a half recipe. I used half water & half NaVan (vanilla liqueur), cut out the sugar and increased the cinnamon candies to roughly half a cup. I would sweeten it much less next time, but the flavour was good and the colour beautiful. I want to learn how to can and this would be great I think!

Awesome! I made a few changes but I loved this basic recipe. I had never thought of adding red hots to applesauce before and it made it taste good! I used a little less red hots because I didn't want it to be too spicy for my kiddo's. I also used several varieties of apples because its what I had on hand. I left some of the apples pretty chunky and used half white, half brown sugar. Also I added a cinnamon mix that has other spices in it. All four of my kids loved it and thats saying something! I think this recipe is a keeper just as it is but if you wanted to make changes it works well for that too! Quick, easy and much better than store bought applesauce! Thanks!

A delicious change of pace from the usual applesauce. Made as directed, it was wonderful.

I rated this a 5 because it was really yummy. I used Splenda and it was just a tad too sweet Next time will reduce the sweetener. It was still delicious.
