Chunky Applesauce
SUBMITTED BY:
Deborah Amrine
"There's just something extra special about homemade applesauce. This simple recipe is tart and not too sweet. It makes the perfect side dish, especial will pork chops, or pork roast. --Deborah Amrine, Grand Haven, Michigan"

Easy and delicious! My only modification was about 3/4 C of water, which I let most of boil off during the last 20 minutes or so of cooking. My husband & I both loved it - I will definitely make it again!

This is ridiculously good. A little on the sweet side, but if that is what you are looking for, this recipe is amazing. I think you could cut the sugar in half (or even almost out) and have a more natural style of chunky applesauce. The vanilla is a great touch.

I made this today and was kind of disappointed. I don't really like the flavor the vanilla adds. I will stick with Sarah's Applesauce from this site. Not a waste...the kids seem to like it. Thanks anyway.

delicious! really great, but really sweet! I happen to love it, but it's not necessarily your traditional applesauce...perhaps cutting the sugar like the other reviewer said is key

I used Golden Dels that I had on hand and added ~1/4 c. of water and a dash of nutmeg to make it a little juicier. Very yummy. Thanks for sharing.
