This is delicious. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it is a bit dry if you don't add the milk, as suggested by other reviewers. I made a double batch for a party and it disappeared before I even got back to my kitchen. A definite it.

I thought this was very good but maybe a bit too sharp tasting? I think I will try a different kind of cheese than cheddar next time because the sour cream adds plenty of tang on it's own.

This was Great, it was tasty and even my picky eater (boyfriend) enjoyed it. The best part about this recipe though i find is how easy it was. My father makes a mac and cheese but it requires melting cheese in milk on the stove top, and that takes ages and also ends in a pot that needs alot of scrubbing each time no mater how much you try to keep it from burning on the bottom. Where as this recipe, makes very few dishes to clean, and those it does make are easy to clean. Also no need to be chained to the stove, simply cook pasta then mix everything togeather then stick in stove and walk away. i followed the recipe exactly, and was very happy with the results, next time i will use slightly less crumbs, but even as it was it was great! will be making again forsure!

This was the best Mac and Cheese I have tasted not like the traditional ones made with a white sauce. The only change I made was to omit the bread crumbs I thought it just had way to much.

I will make this again, but with some modifications. The bread crumbs seemed to soak up all the moisture.

Did not like it in the least. I erred in putting too much topping on it nevertheless, it lacked flavour completely. It was dry. My son gave it a 1-2 out of 5 - couldn't finish it. I'll keep looking for the definitive macaroni & cheese. Expensive experiment - oh well, if you don't try... Whoops! - Forgot I had tried this one and did it again.....guess what? - same result!

This is a really nice recipe, and more of an adult flavor than other mac and cheese recipes I've tried. I ate this as a main course, and it's a little heavy for that. I will definitely make this again, but next time small portions as a side dish.

This wasn't bad, but probably not a recipe I would make again. We found it bland and not really cheesy enough for our tastes. The sour cream and cottage cheese made the cheddar and Parmesan barely noticable. Thanks for letting me try your recipe though! (Edited because this is MUCH better the next day)

Good but not great. Definitely will cut the bread crumbs in half, way too much. It made it too dry. I used Italian seasoned bread crumbs and didn't care for this. Will try the Ritz cracker next time and add some mild like others suggested

I thought this was an ok recipe. It didn't have a lot of flavor and wasn't as cheesy as other recipes I've tried. I added a little bit of Frank's hot sauce to it to give it a little more flavor to use up some of the leftovers. If you haven't tried hot sauce in your mac and cheese you should try it!! It's awesome!

This is my family's favorite Mac'n'cheese. In fact, my dad asked me to make it for his birthday, and it was a hit! Not any left for lunch the next day!

It was ok. The cheddar cheese didn't melt into the cottage cheese and didn't stick to the pasta. It wasn't the creamy melty cheesey mac 'n cheese that I was expecting.

My three children are CRAZY about Mac and Cheese! My five year old helped me make it and she was so excited. She tasted it when it was done and said, "Mommy, it needs more flavor." I completely agree. The flavor of this dish is very mild. It's not bad in any way, just bland. I don't particularly like Mac and Cheese that tastes like biting into a spoon of pure cheese. This dish went in the opposite direction though. None of my kids ate an entire serving. I only used half of the butter/bread crumb mixture and it was still too much for our liking. Also, I agree that the recipe definitely needs milk. I thought I added quite a bit of milk but it was still on the dry side. I will be looking for a cheesier and moister mac and cheese recipe.

it had a nice taste but the texture was just not my thing...i even blended the cottage cheese into the milk to make it smoother...and it was still all seperated - the cheese wouldn't stick to the pasta at all... but the taste was good - and i really liked the bread crumb topping. i used olive oil instead of melted butter.
