I had Chuck Roast from when we bought half a cow and didn't know what to do with it because I don't like traditional roasts. This is so good. I seasoned it with Omaha Steak seasoning when I browned the chuck roast and it was perfect. I cut up the roast and mixed everything together and it was absolutely delicious.

Wow! I felt so good making my family so happy! We love cooked carrots so we threw those in. The four of us were fighting over the noodles, and I doubled the recipe!

Everybody liked this. Even the kids -- notoriously picky -- were willing to give it a taste. My wife raved about it, saying "This one is a keeper". I made some minor changes: - I added some extra onion and three small cloves of garlic (whole). - I didn't have beef broth, so I used 1/2 a bottle of Johnny's Au Jus mix instead. As someone else said, it was the best roast I've ever made.

This was a hit at my house. It was the best roast I have ever made. I did double the noodles as others suggested and they were great.

Wow! I made this exactly as directed, except for throwing in some mushrooms that I had to use up. The roast was moist, tasty, falling apart and I was amazed at just how easy it was to make the noodles. They were delish...plenty for just my hubby and I, BUT I would definitely double when making for the entire family!

Double the noodles and roll them thin. They plump up when you cook them. I think it needs some seasoning - the meat was a bit bland. I made up for that by reserving 2 cups of the noodle broth and made a quick gravy (2 TB butter, 2 TB flour, 2 c broth). Meat was tough but probably my fault - not enough cook time. Will cook again.

Super easy and delicious! My family of 5 enjoyed this. It was a nice switch from the usual pot roast we make. I will use this one again. It's one of those nice, homespun recipes that reminds you of Mom's house.

Amazing!!! I was surprised that I did not have to really season the roast itself. We doubled the noodle recipe. I still cooked it in the same amount of liquid. I did not drain it. It turned the little bit of liquid that was left into a gravy. My family of 2 adults and 3 small children ate almost all of this in one sitting. Absolutely delicious!

I like the idea of this recipe - noodles were a nice change from potatoes with the roast, but I have used better noodle recipes. This one was very stiff and difficult to roll out, and didn't have quite as good of flavor.

This was absolutely wonderful. I did add a little bit of steak seasoning to the roast just before searing it. Poured in 1/4 cup red wine and 1/4 cup water, placed in oven at 325 for 2 hours, then added 4 large cut carrots and 6 medium potatoes, quartered and baked for 45 minutes longer. Mmmm mmmm mmmm Had to add a little salt at the table but it was mouthwatering and super tender. Thanks for sharing.

The roast was already in the oven when I realized I hadn't put a single seasoning on it. Was this an oversight, or are we supposed to use our own seasoning blend? I typically go with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, savory, and celery seed. Anyway, can't wait to try the noodles!

The best of the best. Who knew making noodles was so easy? Messy, yes. But easy? Surprised myself. Making extra noodles and broth turned out to be a good tip as they were so delicious. We also added green beans to the cooking noodles and they turned out perfect w/ the sauce... Just don't add them too soon as to get too soft and overcooked. Would be great with carrots as well. The meat was so tender and juicy. The dish made great for leftovers as well. (though too good to be left for long ;) Thanks for this wonderful, wonderful keeper of a recipe. It's sure to become tradition in our kitchen for years to come.
