This recipe was very good. I did double the eggs and next time I will cut the sausage in half as well. We aren't big meat eaters. Everyone loved it.

Had a brunch yesterday and this was the first thing that went. Everyone loved it- two people asked me for the recipe. I didn't even get to taste it! Made it with 8 pieces of bread and 6 eggs, kept everything else the same. A big hit!

Great starter recipe but if you are daring, change it up! I added cooked crumbled bacon onto the top and used american cheese instead cause I didn't have cheddar, and added minced purple onion!

So very yum and versatile, too. I added chunks of zucchini for just a little more volume. Excellent!

Last night when I decided that I was going to make this I thought that I had everything on hand, so I had to make some changes. I only had on hand sausage links so I cut them up and cooked them, but I also decided to add some bacon to the recipe and I used about 6 slices cut up. After i cut up the toast to me it didn't look like enough for the family so I doubled the bread and as I did that I also added to eggs. Other then that I kept it ingrediants the same I we all thoroughly enjoyed the recipe, there was none left. People were going back for seconds and thirds

I have made this recipe for my family for years...usually for holidays or other special occasions. I also have made it for a couple of wedding and baby showers. People are always asking for this recipe. It's really good just as is.

This recipe is good but I took the advice of a fellow reader and started using crouton's in the casserole and that has made a BIG flavor difference. I also use Hot Sausage for an extra kick. The dry mustard for me adds a lot of flavor so I make sure to add that in! We top ours with fresh chopped scallions and bacon and it is delicious!

OK, so I'm not a big egg casserole fan...but this was really really good! It was so easy, the only change I made was to use 6 eggs and did not add the dry mustard. Assembled in the night before and just popped it in the oven that morning. Looking forward to making again. GREAT RECIPE!

Like other reviewers, I use 6 eggs, and occasionally add chopped scallions, if I have them on hand. But honestly, this is a DELICIOUS egg casserole, and I make it all the time, due to popular demand. I've made it a million times, and find it tastes the best if you chop up everything really fine (no big hunks of bread or sausage), and mix the cheese in throughout the bake. And if you have an earthenware baking pan, you get a fantastic crust.

This is a great base recipe that can be changed for personal taste. I added onions and bacon with a crusty vienna bread instead of the toasted white bread. I used this for catering a small breakfast of 25 and received great praise.
