I thought these were great. Next time I will use less basil though, they were a bit too strong.

This was a good burger with very different flavor. The garlic was overpowering, but I love garlic, so that was fine with me. I agree with another poster that ketchup and mustard are not the right condiments for this burger.

These burgers were great! Excellent flavor. The only thing I changed was using only one fresh clove of garlic as opposed to two...garlic can be pretty overbearing if you use too much. Other than that this recipe is perfect. I had a leftover burger the next day and chopped in up into my mac and cheese (kind of a hamburger helper effect) and it added such a great taste to a boring dish. Awesome burgers!!!

These were good. With any burger, before grilling, pop the patties into the freezer for about 10 minutes. It helps hold in the juices and makes for a super flavorful burger.

We Loved these! I did change it a little bit by using 1 TBS olive oil per 2 lbs meat and added 1 TBS worschestire sauce for 2 lbs of meat. I also used fresh basil leaves, chopped.

Very good. maybe not the best burger I have ever had, but in the top 10 forsure. I used extra lean ground beef, because my wife and I are on a diet. I suspect the cheaper, and tastier, regular ground beef or ground chuck would lead to an even better, juicier, burger. Very good even with extra lean. Probably should deserve 5 stars, but I used extra lean, and it wasn't quite there. Delicious none the less. Make the patties and let them sit in the fridge for a while to hold and conform to shape before grilling.

I got the best reviews when I made these burgers. I pressed the meat into a baking sheet on clear wrap and then seasoned them. I didn't use the oil and they turned out great.

Great recipe! Adds zing that I never knew was missing until now! Versatile burger - I think a variety of condiments would work on it. Thank you!

This was a fantastic burger! Not too different, which was what I was worried about. My only problem was the salt, it didn't ruin the meat but next time I think I will go for a bit less. Thank you!

These burgers were so moist and flavorful. The only thing I added was a 1/4 cup of Italian bread crumbs. And for a little more zest, I topped the burgers with fresh grated parmesan cheese. Delicious!

Not a huge burger fan, but I have some Spanish friends who wanted to try something "American" so I made this. They loved them, and the other Americans at dinner raved about them as well. I plan to make them again :)

I'll admit. I didn't use as much basil but I'm just not really into over spicing. I only used a dash of dried basil, 1 clove garlic, 1 Tablespoon of olive oil, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/2 tsp salt and it still came out delicious and more to my husband's liking. Also, I used some liquid smoke because it was snowing and I didn't want to pull out the grill.

Wow! What a difference using olive oil in lieu of an egg makes! These burgers were delish. I adjusted the recipe to my tastes by adding some freshly grated parmesan cheese and chopped onions. Otherwise, I stuck to the original instructions and the burgers turned out stellar.

These were not the best burgers I have ever had. The basil was a little overpowering, and it tasted more like meatloaf.
