I gave this a 5 because with any recipe personal taste comes into play.

This was a fantastic dish! I browned the chops after seasoning with garlic salt and onion powder...perfect. Doubled the sauerkraut (we love sauerkraut)and I too didn't rinse it, just drained it first. I didn't have bacon, so made it without, but both my husband and I agree it would have completed the meal. Nonetheless, I will make it again!

These pork chops were delicious and easy to make. I had boneless pork loin chops from Schwanns. Having read previous reviews saying the meat was tasteless, I browned mine in bacon fat with onions. I then followed the recipe to the tee - except I had no brown sugar so used a bit of molasses. The chops were tender and flavorful, the combination of sauerkraut with applesauce was delicious and the kraut still tasted like kraut with something extra. I did not rinse my sauerkraut although I did drain it. Served mine with mashed potatoes but think this would go well with pierogies or spaetzle.

Very easy - but bland. I should have just broiled or grilled the chops and made Cola Sauerkraut which is on this site.

Reminded my husband of a German dish his mom used to make. Loved the flavor that the applesauce gave the sauerkraut. Even my 7 yr old liked it!
