This cake is INCREDIBLE!! For the frosting, I added another cup of confectionery sugar and another tablespoon of milk. (cause I like it thick) Thank you!

I've been treated to this chocolate mess for over 20 years! Finally made this on my own and received the best compliment of all - my boss ate 3 pieces!

Good cake. The kids loved the frosting. The cake itself needs a little more punch of chocolate but I just like chocolate. Thanks for sharing.

I was looking for a recipe like this to satisfy a childhood memory. My mom always made this when we wanted brownies. I didn't know what a boxed brownie tasted like until I was grown up. So good!!!

This is the best cake ever! The only place I've ever been able to get a Texas Chocolate Cake is in West Texas at a Czech bakery. Now I can make it myself. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! The only changes I made were for the frosting. I heated butter, cocoa, and milk on stove and then beat with powdered sugar and vanilla. Also, make sure to add the icing while the cake is still hot. As it cools the icing becomes more fudge like.

Moist chocolate cake, great for snacking. Not too strongly flavored, but the icing was a bit too sweet. I thought the icing needed more chocolate flavor like fudge, but it was still good with the cake. No complaints with this one, all in all a good cake.

This is just like I remember when I was a kid. This cake is super EASY and moist. Thanks for the memories! I did not have a sheet cake pan and baked it in a 9 X 13. It worked just the same but of course I had to slightly adjust the cooking time.
