Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla. Sift together the flour, salt, and cocoa; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the pecans until well blended. Cover, and chill for at least 2 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes in preheated oven. Roll in confectioners' sugar when cooled.
