I think these are delicious! after reading the other reviews, i wanted to make up some moisture, so i smashed two small bananas and added that plus 1/4 cup of apple butter. SOOOO TASTY. I think that all good brownies require a glass of milk with them, and these sure hit the spot. thanks for the recipe!

I made two changes to the recipe, I used butter where it said shortening and I doubled the nuts. My family loved them! I will be making this one again

Cake-like brownie recipe I had trouble with: batter was too stiff so I added about 1/4 cup applesauce. Then I had only 1/2 cup cocoa so I added 1 Tbsp of instant coffee powder. I also wish I could more uniformly chop nuts, since mine come out from very fine to medium sized, not very pretty on top. I'm going back to the recipe on the Hershey's cocoa can.

These brownies were just okay. There are several better brownie recipes on this site. My husband loves brownies so we are always ready to try new recipes. Probably won't make this one again. They seemed to be very dry.

This is my new favorite brownie recipe. My kids don't like nuts, so I left them out, and this was wonderful... fudgy and chewy, and makes a 9x13 batch.
