They're very good fresh out of the oven, but dry out really quickly. I microwaved them for a few seconds, and that helped a bit, but I don't think I'd make these again. Maybe in a quarter-batch so my family could eat them all fresh from the oven.

Wow. this cookie is just amazing. Just fantastic. The only tweak I made was to also chop up some Andes mints and add it to the mix. What I loved about the cookie was the "frosting". What i usually hate about cookies that have frostings is that they dont dry in a good way. They get crumbly or stay wet so that you can't stack them. Using the andes mint as the frosting is brilliant. It turns back to a chocolate after cooling and gives the cookie a really yummy mint kick. I suggest though that if you do add andes mints to the batter, that you don't add peppermint extract. That would be way too minty. I cant wait to find the cherry andes to make this cookies with. I am also going to try it with white choclate chips in the future. Everyone must try this recipe. It is perfect for everything. Also turns out very pretty.

it's worth mentioning - for cautious cooks like me! - that because of the melted chocolate/butter/sugar, the dough could be very runny after you add the flour, before you chill it in the fridge. It will, though, harden up a lot as the chocolate sets. I was freaked out by how liquid it looked in the mixing bowl and ended up adding at least another cup of flour until it looked like cookie dough rather than chocolate sauce - after the chilling, i had to scoop the dough with a spoon to make the balls. But it still tasted great, if not quite so soft! I will make again and this time have faith in the recipe...

These cookies were great! Super kudos from my husband, who doesn't typically like cookies/cake, etc. He loved these cookies, and especially enjoyed the soft texture. Thank you for a fantastic recipe!

Wow! I am a terrible baker, and needed a cookie to bring to a holiday cookie exchange. I made these and I can't tell you how wonderful they came out! Out of 18 different cookies everyone couldn't stop raving about my cookies. They taste like Thin Mint girl scout cookies, but even better...I know, I didn't think it was possible either! Also, if you keep them in a tupperware container in your refrigerator they keep for as long as you can keep from eating them! The only change I made to the recipe is that I used a full Andes mint on each one instead of breaking them in half. You will not be dissapointed by these!

These were pretty good cookies. I did as others did and added some of the chopped mint pieces to the mix. I also sprinkled the pieces on top of the warm cookies. If you like mint, you'll like these cookies.

Mine were flat, so I messed up somewhere. But they were still great. And I used white & red peppermint hershey kisses. They worked perfect!!!!! Kinda looked like a peanut blossom.

Really yummy cookies. I used "After Eight" mint patties, the only ones available to me where I live, and they worked out just fine. I'll be making these more often.

I made these for christmas cookies this year. They were wonderful. Since I was snowed in the day I decided to make them, I used mint truffle kisses since I had them on hand. I ground them in my food processor and then melted batch amounts in the microwave and spread it on the cookies after they cooled. This allowed me to control the presentation a little better. The first one I tried to melt the candy on and then spread and it flattened the cookie. I think that may be the problem that some people are having. Other than that one, all my cookies were puffy.
