These cookies were very good, but I only gave 4 stars because I think the chocolate overpowers the cookie a little. I made some of these using white chocolate instead, and they turned out very good!

Very good recipe. Love the texture. These are perfect for afternoon tea or a small sweet after dinner.

Using my co-workers as guinea pigs, I've been bringing a host of different cookies to work. Most are pretty sweet and they seem to like them, but this recipe got rave reviews above the others. Seems the mix of sweet and plain really won them over and I've been told that they're my best work so far. Thanks karen!

My oldest son and I like these cookies. My wife did not. They are neither chewy nor cakey. They are crumbly like I would imagine a British tea biscuit. I made them normal cookie size (2 inches). I think next time I will make them half that size in order to be able to just pop them in my mouth without crumbling them while biting them in half. Over all, a nice break from standard cookie fare.

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL! A tender, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cookie! I tried this because I had an unopened bottle of poppy seeds and wanted to try a completely different cookie recipe. These cookies are easy to make, the poppy seeds add a surprising texture and the chocolate on top makes them an amazing treat. Everyone in the family loved them! Thanks, this one is a FAVORITE at our house!

We followed the recipe word for word until it came to filling them, we rolled the cookies into balls and then stuck a M&M inside and then we covered up the whole and then dipped the top of the cookie in poppy seed then put it on the cookie sheet and with my hand I flattened slightly
