I have made this recipe for years! It truly is better the 2nd-3rd day. The very light frosting recipe I have always used is: 2 pkg. of liquid Choco-Bake, 2 teas. light Karo syrup, 2 teas. vanilla, 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar, , 3 tblsp. melted margarine, 3 tblsp. milk. Mix together in a saucepan on stove, cool, and pour over dessert. Very smooth and DELICIOUS!!

This is after a 8 hour sit in the fridge, but the cake so far is very good and I'm sure only going to get better by tomorrow. I altered a couple things just based on what was in my pantry. Cinnamon grahms, and oreo pudding, also didn't have jar frosting so followed the reccomendation of others and used the chocolate sauce recipe by BaysChick. I will probably try with vanilla pudding the next time, but the oreo cookie pudding is very acceptable!

this is requested every family gathering...I change the frosting by adding vanilla frosting, cool whip, and sour cream (wich kills some of the too sweet) I am going to try something different every time I make it.

This dessert is definately a keeper! Don't be fooled by its simplicity. You can experiment with the frosting, cool whip, and pudding flavors and add spices to taste. The graham crackers turn soft like a crust. Yum!

Yummy!! This is the perfect dessert to make a day or 2 ahead. I really think that makes all the difference. I made this the night before Father's Day -sat in the fridge about 17 hours before first tasting. We thought it was OK, but not worthy of 5 stars. I told my husband I didn't think I'd be making this one again.... However, after another night in the fridge it was awesome! Definitely deserving of 5 stars. Super easy and delicious - as long as you let it sit long enough (probably 24 hours). I also used 3 packages of graham crackers instead of 2. Zapping the frosting for 15 seconds or so (depending on your microwave) is also a must. I can't imagine trying to spread it on. I agree with other reviewers that the frosting is a little much. Next time I don't think I'll use the entire container, but I will definitely be making this one again.

I love this dessert! I made it for Father's Day and it was a huge success. I bought canned chocolate icing but decided to make the icing recipe provided by BaysChick since I had all the ingredients. It was still a little on the sweet side so I would recommend adding 1/2 cup of sugar and then more depending on your taste. The icing also turned out a bit gooey because we ate it as soon as it was taken out of the fridge. Maybe let it sit at room temperature for a while before cutting into it. I will definitely make this one again. Thanks for the great recipe!!!

I made this with great anticipation last week. It was easy to make, very little mess or clean up needed. My only complaint is that after being in the fridge, the graham crackers got a little bit on the soggy side. It was still decent but would have been much better if the graham crackers had retained a little of their crispness.

This is a very popular recipe that I had tried long ago before this post. The reason so many commented on the frosting being too much for this dessert is a common error. Many times when a recipe gets passed on to family and friends they leave something out or is comes with personal amendments. The similar recipe I enjoy calls for you to microwave the canned frosting (IMPORTANT TO REMOVE ALL FOIL FROM INNER SEAL FIRST) for 15 seconds only. Including this important step changes the consistency of the frosting to a glaze. It really makes all the difference in the world. I have never used the whole can of frosting yet, I save unused portion by replacing lid and storing in refrigerator for another use for up to 2 weeks.

so quick and easy, took to a picnic and everyone loved it. Used the reccomended frosting recipe, very good! Don't hesitate to make 2 days in advance, after the second day it had more of an eclair taste/texture.

Oh, this was AMAZING and sooo easy too!! We made it with cinnamon graham crackers and cheesecake flavored pudding mix. We also melted the chocolate frosting in the microwave and poured it on top of the dessert...yum! Breaking the graham crackers into squares makes it easier to serve. We made it in the dorm, and it didn't make that much of a mess :)

I made this for Easter dinner. My husband, who loves eclairs but I thought would hate it--LOVED IT. My sister and I thought the chocolate frosting made it too sweet. Next time I will make 1 box chocolate, and 1 box vanilla and then spread the cool whip over the top layer (I've had it like that before and liked it better). Thanks!

Very good and easy. A good recipe for young children to help with. The longer it sits the softer the graham crackers get. I make it all the time. Once I tried cinnamon grahams and we did not like it at all. Make with the regular grahams only.

I have been making this for over 3 years now and it is always a hit! I only do 2 layers of graham crackers, add amaretto to the filling (gives is great flavor) and use store bought icing that I melt and drizzle over the top. So easy, so good; it's one of my staple deserts.
