This was ok...it wasn't as "great" as the other reviews indicated. It was super simple to make. I'm glad I tried it, and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular. I won't be making this again.

Works just as well with a 5.1 oz box of pudding. Also, a tip I read before, and I'll put on here again.... if you don't have time to refrigerate this overnight...dip the graham crackers in milk before layering, this softens them up just as fast as letting the milk from the pudding sit overnight. That tip for me was a lifesaver, bc now it truly is a 10-15 dessert vs a 15 min + fridge time. And I agree w/ the last review. Just zap the frosting in the microwave to pour over the top.

I have been making this dessert for family get-togethers my entire life! Which is 20 years. Everyone loves it, I don't know what would happen if I decided not to make it one year! Definitely follow one user's suggestion of microwaving the frosting if you are using store-bought - that is the way I have always done it, and not only does it make it MUCH easier to spread, the consistency sits much better with the rest of the dessert. I always try to get it into the fridge the night before serving so that the graham crackers get soft. Delicious!

This was soooo good. I did not use store bought frosting, I used "Chocolate Frosting I" from this site and only used about 8 oz frosting. It did use much more graham crackers than it said- I used almost the entire box.

This dessert was easy and absolutely delicious. It disappeared so fast I almost didn't get a taste! I made it the day before I wanted to serve it. The graham crackers softened up nicely and I got neat, easy to cut servings. Thanks so much for a great recipe :)

I won a dessert competition and $100 bucks with this recipe! I used the "Satiny Chocolate Glaze" recipe so that I would feel like I actually did something "homemade". =) It is wonderful, easy and kids LOVE it!

Delightful. I'm only giving it four stars because I've been using the homemade chocolate sauce suggested by reviewers ("Mix 1/3 cup cocoa, 1 cup sugar in sauce pan. Add 1 teasp vanilla, 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk. Boil for 1 minute, then set aside to cool.") I made it once the night before, once the morning we were going to eat it...both times the graham crackers were delicious. Doesn't seem like the whipped topping really has to be thawed, by the way. Leftovers will last several days (provided you don't eat them first!) This is a simple yet delicious recipe. It's been a big hit and I plan to continue making it for gatherings! Thank you!

Great Recipe! I used the whole box of Graham crackers, banana pudding, and this sauce: Mix 1/3 cup cocoa, 1 cup sugar in sauce pan. Add 1 teasp vanilla, 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk. Boil for 1 minute, then set aside to cool. As said before, make this a day ahead of serving!

Wow, this dessert is delicious! I actually made this a single serving by taking a small bowl and breaking the graham crackers to fit the bottom of the bowl. I used fudge covered graham crackers. I made homemade vanilla pudding and just proceeded to prepare the dessert as directed. I also made a chocolate sauce as recommended by other reviewers. I covered the bowl and let it sit as directed and then proceeded to dig in! This is such a wonderful treat and I like that I can make it in single serve sizes, so I won't have any leftover. Would also be a treat to serve as individual desserts to guests.

This a very easy and quick recipe. However, in my books I don't really consider it to be home-made. But when you make it everyone will RAVE about it and your dish will always come home EMPTY! I took the advise of other users and used french vanilla pudding and I used the chocolate sauce recipe from Bayschick. THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE IS A MUST, it really makes the dessert. Chocolate Sauce Recipe: originally submitted by BaysChick (Thanks so much!): Mix 1/3 cup cocoa, 1 cup sugar in sauce pan. Add 1 teasp vanilla, 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk. Boil for 1 minute, then set aside to cool. I GAVE THE RECIPE A 5 STAR BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVES THE DESSERT! THANKS FOR SHARING THE RECIPE.

Had a dinner party and everyone loved this dessert...it's even better 2/3 days later. Make a chocolate sauce instead of using the the frosting. **Mix 1/3 cup cocoa, 1 cup sugar in sauce pan. Add 1 teasp vanilla, 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk. Boil for 1 minute, then set aside to cool.

Excellent!!!! However, I didn't use the canned frosting; I used BaysChick chocolate sauce recipe. Make sure you let the dessert sit in the refrigerator for a couple hours until the sauce hardens. I made it at night, popped it in the fridge, and it was dessert the next night. Talk about amazing!

This recipe is delicious. After reading the reviews I made a couple of changes: used French vanilla instant pudding, and used Bays Chick's frosting recipe. My own touch to make it seem more like an eclair you were biting into, was to omit the middle layer of grahams. Definitely, Bay Chick's glaze adds the finishing touch to making it taste exactly like a bakery eclair. One word of caution, be careful not to boil the glaze longer than 1 minute, as it cools, it really thickens up. To cover the dish completely, I had to drop it on in dollops and then quickly spread.

This is an excellent recipe that I have been making for about 35 years and it is still a big hit wherever I take it. The chocolate topping I use is more like a glaze...not really a frosting. It calls for 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 tsp. white Karo syrup (that I melt/mix together in the microwave), 2 tsp. vanilla, 1 1/2 C. sifted powdered sugar & 3 tbsp. milk (you can always use a little more milk if you want it a little thinner). Pour this over the top layer of graham crackers & let it set in the fridge (usually I make this dessert the night before). The chocolate has a real smooth finish to it. Also, when I mix the Cool Whip with the pudding (French Vanilla) I add a couple drops yellow food color just to give it a little more color, otherwise, I think it's too pale.
