Good recipe. Cupcakes were better the next day. I may use less milk next time as the cupcakes were falling apart as ppl were eating them.

Good taste but much too dry. I didn't have any problems with the cupcakes exploding or collapsing in the middle. In fact they looked great so it was disappointing when I bit into one.

I baked them for my friends and they only liked it when i covered the tops with lot sof icing and sprinkels and chovolate chips but otherwise they said i should dump the recipe and i agrre. they taste like rocks unless you smother them in sweets

I followed the recipe exactly and the cupcakes came out beautifully! The taste wasn't anything special but it was good and kind of addicting. I topped it with cream cheese frosting. They taste great plain too. Looked picture perfect, I will definitely be making again!

it did NOT work for me- they sank down, and overflowed while they were still watery batter. i do not reccomend this recipe.

i had mak this cupcakes, and ooh i like it. but i should add or less some ingredient like the sugar, because it was too sweet, and i don't like sweet too much... but it's easy you know... thanks ladan.

The batter tasted so good, but these cupcakes didn't work out in the oven. They overflowed/exploded and then caved completely in the center. I had to throw away the entire batch and clean my oven. I don't know how anyone got this recipe to work, because I specifically experimented with filling the cups to different levels. The ones filled about halfway plumped up so beautifully to a crown, but then a minute or two later exploded just like the others. Something is wrong with the chemistry of this recipe.

These are very moist and get great reviews when I bring them in to work. They hardly need icing! I agree that filling the tins 1/2 full is ideal.

My 7 y.o. daughter and I made these for a church event. We thought they were so delicious! Definitely do NOT fill the cups more than 1/2 full! We got 24 normal-size cupcakes out of this. They taste almost brownie-like, so if you want a cake-like mix, this may not be for you. We topped them with the Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing recipe from this site. I was also pleased with how low-fat these are.

This recipe was great! I didn't melt the butter but I did mix it with the wet ingredients, and I used about 1/3 cup of milk instead of 1 cup. I mixed the sugar with the dry ingredients. I frosted them and decorated them and they were absolutely delicious and didn't fall apart TOO bad. I think using actual shortening will help make them more firm.
