I used Hershey's milk chocolate chips and a drizzle of white chocolate. I used about 1 tbsp of shortening. Very good, thanks!

Fantastic! So easy to do and it looked so professional. Great for Mother's Day! I drizzled white chocolate on top too. I did have a problem when I tried to melt the white chocolate in the micro. and ended up using some Wilton white chocolate melts in the micro. instead. The double boiler worked great for both semi-sweet and dark chocolate. I took someone else's advice and used Ghirardelli and it turned out great!

I loved this recipe. I made different kinds. Some milk chocolate, some white chocolate, some milk chocolate with white chocolate drizzled over, and some CARAMEL! I added caramel to the milk chocolate and it was great!!

This was easy, I doubled the receipe and followed it to a T and it came out perfect. I melted the chocolate in a tin bowl within a pan of boiling water.

Super easy to make. It was my first time and they came out perfect. I set them out at a party and all 40 of them were gone in minutes. I will be making them often.

Love these! First weekend for strawberry pickin' so you gotta do some with chocolate. I melted dark chocolate and white chocolate almond bark. Didn't use the shortening. I did half dipped in dark and half with the almond bark. After sticking in the freezer for 10 minutes, drizzled remaining chocolate on berries. I didn't have any strawberries left! I used my leftover chocolate by laying out dry roasted peanuts on waxed paper and drizzling both chocolates of the peanuts until set...YUM!

Super easy to make. I've tried making these before with just chocolate (no shortening OR paraffin) and couldn't figure out why the texture was off. Obviously now I know what I was missing! So yummy. Oh, and the tip to dry them in styrofoam is great, they look much prettier.

I made my own modifications to this recipe to meld with what I had available. I used both semi-sweet and 60% dark cocoa chocolate chips and 2 tbsp. shortening. I melted it in a metal bowl over barely simmering water. it allowed me time to dip all the strawberries without taking it off the heat and then re-melting it. It tastes awesome. I used the 10 minute quick set that others suggested. This is a great recipe to mix and match different chocolates according to your taste!

This has to be one of the easiest things to do EVER! I love chocolate covered strawberries but due to past bad experiences with melting chocolate i was intimidated. I finally decided to try again and make these for a friends baby shower along with coconut macaroons. Both came out great and complimented each other well. As long as the heat is low and you stir it often you cant go wrong.

Easy and fast! After I finished dipping them, I put them on wax paper on a cookie sheet and placed the sheet in the freezer for 10 mins. Took it out and it hardened nicely. Transfered to a plate, took out the toothpicks, and put it in the fridge. Next time I would like to roll them in some nuts. I had some left over chocolate and some pretzels, so I made chocolate covered pretzels...yummy!

Great recipe! Make sure the strawberries are thoroughly dry by patting with paper towels, otherwise the chocolate receeds from the strawberries. Also, DO NOT be tempted to add more shortenening,or that's all you'll taste. Be patient and keep stirring the chocolate till the desired texture is acheived. Also, semi-sweet chocolate can be used.

This recipe is great - the shortening works just as well as paraffin!! I also added some icing coloring to the white chocolate to make pink for easter - it worked out great! And what a great idea to stick the toothpicks in styrofoam!

So easy and tasty! Served them at a party and they disappeared so fast! I melted my milk chocolate/shortening in the microwave on a low power and it worked great. I recommend having toothpicks and styrofoam though (especially if you are going for looks), because resting the strawberries upside down to harden was tricky (there were a few casualties).

Okay, am I a loser or what? The chocolate didn't get smooth enough to dip properly, so my strawberries looked pretty pathetic. They tasted great, though!

The chocolate was so good. I know for next time to use fresh strawberrys b/c the frozen ones are too soft.

These are perfect. I did use milk chocolate chunks not chips but I am sure they taste the same. We also drizzled white chocolate on some of them! Perfect for valentines day or any day really.
