Much better than store bought! The second time I made it, I used brown sugar and doubled the cocoa. I also reduced the cornstarch, so it doesn't go solid when it cools.

I loved this recipe! I followed another user's suggestion and used 1/2C brown sugar and heaping tbs of cocoa powder. The pudding turned out great! I cannot seem to stop myself from "sampling" it every time I'm near the fridge!

I made this as a quick midnight snack and it definitely cured my chocolate craving. I upped the amount of cocoa powder and added in a bit more butter to make it extra rich. If I wasn't in such a hurry, I would have sifted my cocoa powder because I ended up with little lumps in my pudding. They were cooked lumps, but I like my pudding smooth. I chilled the leftovers and had some this morning - yummy! Thanks for sharing!

Mmmmm...... Pudding.... Simply delicious. Satisfied my late-night chocolate craving, without having to leave my house. I followed the recipe very closely, and it turned out perfect. Next time I might add some instant coffee or maybe some peppermint extract.

I haven't had scratch pudding in years. Wow. I will not be able to go back to the box. I added a little cinnamon and instant coffee and it really enhanced the depth and richness.

This was a very easy recipe and my family like it. I was a little hesitant about putting so much cornstarch in, so I reduced it by half. The texture was very creamy. However, it didn't thicken up as much as I'd hoped. I will definitely put more cornstarch in next time.

Used double the cocoa and vanilla, as per suggestions, and the flavor was spot on. The texture is still a little thin, even using full-fat milk and simmering it for a while. Still, the flavor was so good noone cared.

it reminds me of my mother`s pudding . it`s really better than the pudding powder coz it does`t have the weird taste that coming from the preservatives . it`s simple , delicious and cheap, and U can make it lighter using fat free milk and no butter.

Great recipe! I used 4 tablespoons of cocoa, and left out the butter and vanilla- no need for the added fat.

yummy! it is silly how when you grow up having jello instant pudding, you forget that you can just make it yourself. it tastes better and is really easy. i used Hershey's Special Dark cocoa, 1% milk and omitted the butter and vanilla. a nice light dessert.

OMG I am in shock!! I was craving chocolate and searched for a recipe to use what I had on hand. I didn't even have any milk! Made this with 2 cups water instead and added an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder...it came out delicious!! Like fudge! I really am so suprised how good and easy this was! Some whipped cream on top would make it even better :)

This was pretty good, but turned out lumpy (probably because I have a hard time controlling the temperature on my gas stove). I may try more cocoa next time for a deeper chocolatey taste.

This was very tasty. I followed others suggestions and added extra coco powder but it wasn't enough chocolate flavor for me. Next time I will add more coco and omit the butter and vanilla, it took away from the flavor. I served my pudding with sand on top. Everyone loved it.
