After four tries and too many wasted ingredients, I gave up on this..The chips never got anything close to melted or "smooth".

This has been a recipe I have had since a child...but I use, 1 cup semisweet chips, 1 bag of butterscotch chips, chowmein noodles and CASHEWS......Very very good with cashews. The amount of noodles is half a bag!

I make something similar--we call them haystacks. We add mini marshmallows to the mix and a 2:1 ratio of chocolate chips to butterscotch chips.

These are really good! I whipped these up in no time. I doubled the recipe and I used crushed pecans in place of the peanuts. (just a taste preference) I also added some coconut to part of the batch and it was great. I can't wait to experiment with these recipe. I think it would be yummy to add some craisins. Thank you for the super easy, fantastic recipe!
