Great cookies! I doubled the recipe and added 1 tsp. salt and an extra 1/4 cup of cocoa. I used 2 bags of mini chocolate chips. Using a SMALL cookie scoop, this recipe yeilds 105 little cookies when doubled. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

These cookies are a favorite of my coworkers. Whenever I bring them in, they are almost always gone before lunch. I always use Ghiradelli chocolate chips, which are nice and dark.

Despite the confusing recipe instructions these came out pretty darn good I have to say. Should have read reviews for advice. Good flavour and chewy texture. Bring on the milk!

Very good. Something a bit different from the run of the mill chocolate chip cookie. I'm baking them and going to put in the freezer for some summer house guests that will be here soon. Now, it's time to try Mrs. Siggs peanut butter cookies.

I thought the cookies came out OKAY. I had a lot of trouble mixing it and ending up throwing my hand in the mix. I had to knead to dough. I feel like it was missing a little salt and I would add a lot more sugar! It just wasn't sweet enough for me. Next time I'd just buy the dough already made from the supermarket.

These were really, really good! I used Butter-Flavor Crisco (adding 6 tbsp. of milk) instead of butter. The recipe is very similar to the chocolate chip recipe found on the inside label of the Crisco sticks. It is my absolute favorite cookie recipe, so I had to give these a try to satisfy the chocoholic in me. I creamed the shortening and sugars, then added the eggs and vanilla, then added the blended dry ingredients, and finally the chocolate chips. They were yummy! The only changes I might make the next time I make these (and there will definitely be a next time!) is to add a little more sugar and a little less baking soda. These are both personal preferences - it's not like these aren't sweet! My sweet tooth is an over-achiever, it's not your normal sweet tooth. The cookies I normally make have another 3/4 cup of sugar in them, so that is what I am used to, and I would like these cookies to be a little sweeter. I didn't even consider that adjustment until the day after I made them when I noticed they weren't as sweet as my regular recipe. Straight out of the oven these were AWESOME! So, next time I will try 1/8 cup more of both the brown and white sugars and decrease the baking soda a tad because I like my cookies a little more dense. Again, these are both personal preferences, and I think this recipe is wonderful as is. Definitely deserving of a 5 star rating!

ok like the other reviews, i added a quarter teaspoon of salt and they came out great. i have to explain that i have upon me a baking jinx. whenever i bake something for the first time, they come out perfect, but subsequently rhe recipe flops. but i've made these cookies nearly ten times and they come out perfect every single time. i've tried them with walnuts, sunflower seeds, pecans and just plain. perfect every single time. the jar empties within a day. *edit* i've tried these with hazelnuts. the best so far!

BEST COOKIE EVER! OMG!!!!!!!! I made these for our neighbor last weekend and saved 1 for each of my family - little did I know... I should have made like a billion of these! Thank you sooooohoho much for this recipe. Here's what I did: I used white chocolate chips with the regular chocolate chips, and I creamed the butter and sugars first to give the cookies a good texture. They were so soft some of them fell apart when I moved them! YUM - I will DEFINITELY make again!

I was expecting a fantastic cookie after reading all the reviews and I just wasn't all that impressed. It's a decent, very chocolaty cookie, but the flavor wasn't anything really special. The flavor was like your basic brownie. I followed the recipe exactly. The dough was also very sticky and hard to work with.
