This recipe is wonderful. I tried it with raspberry chips and it was just as good.

We loved these! I used white chocolate chips and added a few raisins. I also followed the advice of some reviewers and used 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup oil and 1 tsp vanilla. They were just perfect, moist and tasty.

I really can't understand the positive reviews on this recipe. I made some of the recommendations including using apple sauce instead of oil, using 1 cup of milk, and adding 1 tsp of vanilla. Even with the changes, I would not recommend these muffins to anyone.

these are not good muffins! they are dry, crumbly, and lack taste. people told me they only enjoyed them because of the chocolate chips! i would not make these again. I would personally add more sugar, and bake them only for 20, not the recommended 25.

Yum! These muffins were de-lish. I followed the recipe, tweaking it a little bit like others said: added a teaspoon of vanilla extract, substituted chocolate chips for blueberries, added two spoonfuls of sour cream, and used 1 cup of milk instead of 3/4 cup. Not the best muffins ever, but definitely in the top 5!

These were a big hit at my house, and I have already made them twice. I did as many others suggested, adding 1/4 cup of sour cream and 1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla to the recipe. I plan to make this again, substituting other ingredients for the chocolate chips - it's a good basic muffin recipe.

Made these with my 10 year old DD for breakfast this morning. We made them in a mini muffin tin in the toaster oven, and they were perfect! Lots of snacks for later! Thanks!

These were good! Although like some other reviewers; I thought they was missing a little something. Next time I would definately add some vanilla. Apart from that, I thought they were very good; I really like the sprinkling of sugar on top! Thanks for the recipe!

I used 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup oil as did others. My five-year-old and I gave these 5 stars. My 8-year old gave them 3 -- she said, "Needs more chocolate and more flavor -- like more sweetness."

Thought this recipe was very good. I did follow advice and use one cup of milk, and added a teaspoon vanilla. My daughter used this recipe for a science experiment (yes, the original owner of recipe received full credit). We tested five different kinds of flour. All baked well and was edible, although some tasted better than others. I think the whole family enjoyed this muffin. Try it!

i really liked these! as usual, i got tempted 2 put more than just choco. chips in 'em: i put butterscotch & rainbow as well. (i REALLY like the effect of rainbow chips-so nice & colorful) i also luv the idea of the crusty top from putting the sugar on before baking-i like toppings like that sometimes. (i actually used that idea for the "sugar-coated muffins" as well. -the sugar is actually supposed to go on after coming out of oven, but i put it on before, & got that yummy crusty result that i learned from this recipe.) definitely not the only time id make these!

Very yummy. I made them into mini muffins and used 1/2 whole wheat flour and added flax seed which gives it the health factor and added flavor. I also followed some others advice and used sour cream in addition to the milk and vanilla. The kids love them and are eating them up. I like to make something I can consider atleast somewhat healthy, but offer it to the kids as a treat and this recipe definitely fit the bill.

Well, I've made this recipe several times now and I'm getting close to perfecting it. I've made several changes to make these more muffin-like, less scone-like: reduce flour to 1 1/2 cups, increase milk to 1 cup, increase vegetable oil to 1/2 cup, add 1 tsp vanilla and omit the white sugar & brown sugar for topping (I don't like the sugar on top.) Next time I make these I might try a little less baking powder, too. Good luck!

My kids loved these muffins, with some changes. For perfect results: 2 eggs instead of 1, 1 cup milk instead of 3/4 cup, and 1 tsp vanilla. I didn't change the amount of oil and they were perfect. Especially for a kids birthday morning breakfast!

Surprised I couldn't find anyone who subsituted applesauce for oil. I did and they came out okay. Good snack but, yes, a little dry. Next time I'll try to increase the milk like everyone suggests...or more applesauce.
