These are so yummy! I gave it a 4 because I added 2 extra things (sour cream and vanilla as suggested by others.) I love that they are not too sweet and the sugar topping just gives it the exact amount of sweetness. Thanks for such a great recipe. I will definitely be making these again.

Added 1/2 cup sour cream to make them moist. Used chocolate chunks instead of mini chips because it's what I had on hand. Didn't put the sugar on as topping. They were great and my kids loved them.

These were a bit bland. It is probably a good base recipe, but by itself they are not impressive. Perhaps more sugar and vanilla would be nice.

I followed the recipe exactly except I increased the chocolate chips to a full cup and I got 12 large muffins from it. Mmm, these are really good. I was a little concerned that they will not be sweet enough but the chocolate chips and the little dusting of sugar on top really balances it all out! Thx.

I followed the advice of others and used 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup sour cream. They turned out better than the local bakeries!

I followed the recipe exactly with one exception, I used apple sauce instead of oil. They turned out great, and the kids gobbled them up.

I had a baking bug this morning and had all the ingredients around my kitchen. With a few changes as per suggestions, these came out fantastic!!! And I almost never say that about my homemade muffins... I changed the milk to 1 cup, added 1/2 tsp vanilla and a 3.75 oz pkg of cream cheese fruit dip. I baked for 20 minutes and they came out fluffy, super super moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Just like I like em! Great recipe base, could have been a 5 but I didn't try it without my additions first.

Great, fluffy and moist but every one stuck to the bottom of my muffin pan. I sprayed just the bottom, like it said and I did adjust the recipe as suggested. Oh well, they were just for the family and we love muffins tops. For friends, I'd be afraid to try it.

I found these muffins to be really dry, and I made sure to not overwork the batter or overbake. They also didn't have much flavour. The sugar on top is a great idea unfortunatly it was the only part I could get the kids to eat.

These were very good. I made three batches for my son to take to school for his birthday. He said everyone loved them! I increased the milk to one cup, subbed canola oil for the vegetable oil, and added one half teaspoon of vanilla. I noticed that the texture becomes more dense after you cover them for storage. I'll make these again!

Very good recipe! These sort of reminded me of scones, b/c the batter wasnt' very sweet, but the chocolate chips made up for it. My picky daughter (who only eats the premade mix kind) loved them. Will keep this recipe!

I added more milk and oil as recommended, but I found these muffins a little bland. I'm not sure what exactly is missing, but these were not the greatest I've ever tasted. They are not bad, but I would probably not make them again.

My husband absolutely looovvvveeess these muffins. I have made this recipe about 10 times and he devoures most of the muffins by himself. I didn't give the recepie 5 stars only because I find it to be a little bit better when I added extra ingredients as other reviewers suggested. But this recipe will stay with us forever.
