I thought these muffins were fairly tasty, but the sugar topping was a little weird, to my palate. I might've liked them better without it, like another reviewer mentioned. They didn't rise very much, though, I didn't think, and were a bit flatter and denser than they might have been; not the light-and-fluffy kind of muffins. They were also a little dry. Not too sweet either. Just okay, in my book, but I did make a batch for my neighbors, too, and they told me they liked them (maybe just being polite, though!).
I did make them exactly as described, with no alterations. I suppose that a lot of the other reviewers were correct to make some changes to this recipe.
