Wonderful. They were quick and easy and my son and all the people I made them for at church thought they were awsome.

I was looking for a substitute for the mini Hostess muffins that I had been buying so I tried this recipe. They were good, but didn't taste like the Hostess ones. They had more of a yellow cake taste to them. They were not bad, just not what I was looking for.

I tried this recipe because my husband loves the ones you can buy at the store. They turned out almost exactly like them. They were very easy to make. I would have like a little bit more flavor, but my "taste-testers" said they were incredible.

These were just o.k. for us. It tasted like regular cornbread with chocolate chips. Pretty bland and not really worth my ingredients that are like gold now that groceries are so high. Won't be making these again.

My husband made these and loved the raw batter but we found that the cooked product was dry and lacked flavour. The kids ate them up but I think that had more to do with the abundance of chocolate chips in them.

These were incredibly tasty and easy to make. I used butter flavored Crisco, and regular size chocolate chips and they turned out perfect.

Delicious! Cute presentation. Made a nice snack for my daughter's school lunches. Will add to list of things to make for her lunch for variety. And much fresher and more cost efficient than buying twinkies or whatever.

Absolutely delicious... and these muffins stay moist for 2-3 days (maybe longer, but they never last that long)

they might have been bland if you use soy or milk-free everything........which I can see if someone has allergies, but this recipe AS written, is very good!! I top with a little icing and they were all gone at the get together!!

These were OK. I thought the batter was a little bland, but there are enough chips to make it tasty. I might make them again since they're so easy and my 4 year old had fun. But he barely ate them and LOVES muffins. *I used soy margarine, soy milk, and milk-free chocolate chips since my son is allergic to dairy* The recipe said it makes 18, but I got 27 mini-muffins.

These muffins were very good! My kids loved them. They are just like the ones that come in the lil pouches that you buy in the supermarket. The only thing that I have to say is that they were just a tad too "greasy" or oily. I'll bet I either over-measured my shortening or under-measured my flour...But the taste and consistency is there!

My 12-yr-old daughter made these and found the recipe fun and easy. However, when she bit into the muffin, she found it too filled with air...not "cakey" enough in texture. We did substitute margarine for shortening, so this might account for the slightly drier texture. But, we used good-quality chocolate chips, so that helped boost the taste and will ensure they all get eaten!
