I really wanted to love this recipe, but I just didn't. I was expecting it to be different, somehow. The cupcake has to be totally underbaked and still be in batter form in the center in order for the cookie dough not to get cooked, but even with a "liquid" cupcake center the cookie started baking. It tasted good, but not great, so I don't think I'd make them again. UPDATE - I sent these cupcakes to my husband's office and they received rave reviews from his coworkers. His boss called it "the best cupcake I've ever had in my life." So I guess my personal opinion on them doesn't matter!

These are very good - family LOVED them. Cooked exactly as said, but used "cookie dough" frosting(from others): 1 1/4c flour, 1/2tsp baking soda & salt, 1/2c soft butter, 1/2c sugar, 1/4c packed brown, 1/4c milk, 1tsp vanilla - blend butter/sugar, add liquids, then dry. stir in 1c mini chips & frost!! DELISH!! ;o) Update: I just made these again - when the sides of the cupcake look like they're drying and the middle still looks wet, they're probably done. DO NOT OVER COOK!

These were fabulous! I made them for the people that came over to help me with wedding invites and projects. The perfect treat. I made them without frosting...was wondering if anyone has found a frosting that works well with these cupcakes?

These were great! Next time I will use chocolate cake, so they contrast better with the cookie ball. Delicious!

This is a very clever idea! The kids loved this. We will always put aside some cookie dough batter in the freezer from now on for future uses to make these! thank you!

YUM! Tasted really good! You need to make sure you don't over cook these. First batch, I over cooked slightly, 2nd batch came out perfect.

Cupcakes were yummy, but to be honest I wasn't knocked off my feet like I was hoping to be based on most of the other reviews. Other than a bit of a texture change, I couldn't really tell there was cookie dough in the middle.

Excellent! I used a reduced sugar Devils Food Cake mix, pre made choc chip cookies, and reduced sugar choc fudge frosting. For a family get together - went over extremely well and no leftovers! So easy using the premade stuff! Next time will use the PB cup cookies!

O.MY.GOD!!! these are absolutely amazing. i made a few subtle changes - mini chocolate chips and chocolate cake mix - plus i frosted them with a chocolate ganache. how wonderful these were!!! i only baked them 16 mins and had no issues with dry crumbly dough. the cupcakes were cooked through and moist, and the dough was still dough-y and o so delicious! thank you thank you!!!

This recipe was really good. The only reason I'm giving it four stars and not five is because there are other varieties of cupcakes I like better. My mom however, loved these- so did a bunch of my friends. One tip, after to take them out of the oven, wait as little time as possible to remove them from the muffin tray. Why? I was afraid that they would continue to cook, seeing as how the tray is still hot. You don't want that cookie dough inside to start to bake. So, take out the cupcakes ASAP and PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE- that way the cookie dough stays doughy.

OK, first off, being tired and having pregnancy brain does not combine well when baking. Instead of setting my oven to bake, I accidentally set it to BROIL. Oops. Despite this mishap, the cupcakes actually turned out surprisingly well. I tried one cupcake where the cookie dough had cooked through, it was a little too sweet for my tastes, but my coworkers really liked them (cooked cookie and cookie dough kinds). I used a different Choc. Chip Cookie recipe from this site, but I did use yellow cake mix and put a cream cheese frosting on top.

These are great but, make sure you leave them in the muffin pan to cool, if you want them 'gooey' in the middle. I tried to make two batches for a party, and tried to take the first batch out of the pans, so I could put the 2nd batch in the oven - oh what a mess I had! But, the ones left in the pan to cool were wonderful and gooey in the middle.

Yummy!.. I really wanted to use up some Pillsbury cookie dough I'd purchased at our dollar store; it was Cinnabon sugar cookie flavored. I used yellow cake mix and baked for 22 minutes. The middle wasn't super gooey but I was happy with it!.. A bit too sweet for me but the kids ate them; I'd also make the dough part smaller inside next time since I'd like more cake.
